Smokinal Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 I'm usually a numbers guy. When I go fishing I like to catch fish. I'm also fortunate enough to have lots of good water around here. Some places produce good numbers with smaller fish while others give me toads but fewer of them. So I go back and forth all year long depending what I'm hankerin' for 1 Quote
Super User Teal Posted June 17, 2020 Super User Posted June 17, 2020 Both... maybe I'm weird.. I dont tournament fish much any more but when I go fishing, I have the goal in mind of 12lbs in a half day (3-4) hours and 20 lbs in a whole day.. I want to get on quality fish... I want numbers... but numbers of 2.5 -4 lb fish. If I get find those guys then, i feel like I didnt what I came to do. On the bright side, when I fish with that mentality, like I'm scouting for areas of good sized bass, but decent numbers, I feel like I can enter any tourney around here when I feel like it. But again, maybe I'm weird. 1 Quote
Glaucus Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 I'm in the middle. I don't go out targeting dinks and I don't go out targeting trophies. My approach is to catch as many quality bass as possible. 1 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 The thrill of a big one can keep me chucking a swimbait in the blistering winter wind with rain beating my gear like a drum. Numbers will make me keep saying, "one more cast." My ultimate fishing high is a big limit. Nothing makes me feel more accomplished than figuring out what the fats want, where they are, and putting them in the kayak. Quote
