Looking to build a high end rod and curious to thoughts on blanks. I have considered Point Blank, K2, MHX Elite X, St Croix SCV. Are there any other high-end blanks to consider? How would you rate them in terms of sensitivity, light weight, overall feel?

I've built numerous St Croix and Point Blanks, never an Elite X or K2.

The Point Blanks are clearly my preference for sensitivity, weight, and feel.  And a dumb accident recently taught me that the Point Blank I was using was incredibly tough.  Never expected it to survive, but it did.  SCV is very good, but I prefer the Point Blanks.

Sensitivity is impossible to measure. They’re all good, it comes down to the specific feel you like. Unfortunately you’d have to build them all to know. You can add Rainshadow Immortal and Eternity (if you can find some left)to the list worth considering. North fork is out there but the service is so bad I won’t deal with them.

NFC XRay is the most sensitive blank I've used, followed by the K2 and SCV. Honestly, at that point you're just splitting hairs though. If one offers a particular action or taper that you prefer, you're not likely to be disappointed in the end product.

I cannot wait til someone requests that I build them a rod on a Point Blank!! I want that opportunity.

Rainshadow Immortal is my finesse worm blank.  I've tried a few others and really like the Immortal.  Just built a 2.8 oz rod to replace one I broke last week.
