He is 5 years old. Also his first fish with an artificial lure.

That's a great pic. The imperfect photos are often the best ones. They give you a hint and let your memory re-live and describe the rest, specifically because it was not captured. Congrats to you and your 5 year old for a memory you'll both have forever.

Actually, you can tell from that pic that the bass is not some skinny fingerling. It probably gave a five year-old the fight a 5# would give a grown man!

Very cool. Be careful, soon he will be asking for a few baitcasters and wanting to fish everyday.  Trust me, I know all about this.  lol
