Hello!

So I broke my rod tip and I ordered a new one from amazon.

I thought I had it all picked out right. But I ordered a hole diameter of 8mm when I need 6mm.

my question is will I still be able to use this tip top? Or do I need to buy a new tip top?

thanks in advance for any help.

If that one doesn't fit, you can save it for another rod if you need it. Either take your rod to a good tackle shop for repair, or, go to Wal Mart. Most Wal Marts carry a 3 pack Fuji tip kit. It comes with hot melt glue also.

Thanks for the reply! The tip fits on the rod. I was just worried because the diameter of the guide hole on the top is 2mm bigger than the next guide hole. 8mm to 6mm. Was wondering if it will work fine?

You're talking about the ring diameter.  Others and I thought you were talking about the tube diameter.  It will work, just not as well as a smaller one.  Extra weight out there slows the recovery of the rod.  Might not be noticeable depending on the rod.  It certainly will work.

Oh sorry! I am new to fishing been fishing for a little over a month now! The rod I am using is an extra heavy. I live in Japan where there are a lot of snakeheads. First one I caught I was hooked! Thanks for the info! I will put it on my rod! Thanks for the help and sorry for the confusion!

Spinning, or casting rod?  Not that it makes much difference. It will work, but may look a little odd to you if that matters.  On a casting rod the bottom of the ring may sit .5mm or so higher that the smaller guide behind it. Under load it isn't going to be much of a factor.

Thank you! I put it on and is a little weird, but it works!

With that heavy a rod, you'll not notice any performance difference. I have Fuji SV aluminum oxide guides on a heavy saltwater rod that I used 200 days a year when I lived in Florida, it now is used on oversized sturgeon up to 10 ft. long since I retired in 1991, 80 lb Tufline, up to 3 lbs. of weight, heavy current, zero grooving, or any other type failure.
