BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted June 11, 2020 BassResource.com Administrator Posted June 11, 2020 Well....it's not a simple answer. There's a lot of different reasons that can cause a fish kill in your pond. Here's a good start to help figure out the problem: https://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/fish-kills-3.html https://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/diagnosing-fish-kills.html https://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/fish_kill.html There are links to more articles about fish kills at the bottom of each article (we have a large library about this issue). Hope that helps! Quote
Smokinal Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 I'd be shocked if a pond 10' deep can flip. That happens on deeper lakes where the water temp is so different from upper level to lower level, that the density makes the water "flip", or trade positions. I don't know what killed your fish, sadly, but I doubt it's due to a turnover. I would, however, check with state departments and have the water tested before adding new fish. Quote
