Dad was always a scotch drinker, a good friend of mine who was an umpire in our little league was more rye. I’ve gravitated to bourbon but I’m still pretty novice when it comes to whiskey. Where do you stand? BYW I just used the no bueno earlier. ?.., love it! I don't drink hardly at all any more so when I do, I need it to be very good. Otherwise, I'm very sad. I will always go a quality bourbon before most anything else. Tin Cup got me with their add a year ago I guess. Some chucklehead climbing a mountain ? Still have the bottle and the little stupid cup as a reminder. A-Jay 1 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 20, 2021 Super User Posted March 20, 2021 Here's one I might like to perhaps check out . . O.H. Ingram River Aged Straight Whiskey is the only whiskey aged inside a first-of-its-kind floating rickhouse moored on the riverbank in Ballard County, KY. The constant motion of the river ensures that the whiskey never stops working, creating an extraordinary spirit with a taste mature beyond its years. Talk about float your boat ~ wait what ? ? Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted March 20, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 20, 2021 I can’t do liquor. Jack single barrel was it for me and it never turned our good. Chalk it up to a 10 foot tall and bulletproof mentality at 21. Nevertheless not going to revisit that, not even going to attempt it, this is my only go to now. I’ve got it down to a science I guess you could say. Stick with what works. 1 Quote

I’m a scotch guy @moguy1973, how far are you from Frankfort, KY? Weller is $30 and Blantons is $60 at Buffalo trace, but you have to be there in person to buy it and only one bottle per person per day About a 6 hour drive. Probably worth the drive though. That stuff is good. 4 hours ago, A-Jay said: Here's one I might like to perhaps check out . . O.H. A-Jay That’s kind of like Jefferson’s Ocean. They pack the barrels on a freight ship and off they go on a voyage around the oceans. Can go to their website and put the barrel number in and it will tell you where all it went. Does it make for a better bourbon? Eh, not the bottle I’ve tried. Jefferson’s Reserve is better. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 23, 2021 Super User Posted March 23, 2021 It was absolutely gorgeous on Sunday. I got a little yard work done and sat down before dinner and had a cocktail Tin Cup soda lemon twist 2 Quote
CrankFate Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 See a lot of bourbon mentioned here. Long story short, since I didn’t really know the difference between bourbon and brandy (don’t ask), I remembered Glenmorangie original is aged in bourbon barrels. Tastes a lot better than bourbon, if you ask me. So I’ve been sipping it with a few ice cubes recently. Problem is my wife keeps drinking it all. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 27, 2021 Super User Posted March 27, 2021 Had to do plumbing repairs at the house today, then a little yard work. Just sat down to relax. I know, the glass doesn’t work but it tastes good. ? 4 Quote
ThatZX14Fella Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 I'm off of drinking for a while, unfortunately. I've been having a lot of health issues. Panic attacks, vision problems, daily headaches, vomiting, etc. I'm on anti-anxiety meds, and went to the ER a couple of weeks ago. They found a mass in my sinuses and I'm waiting to go to the ENT to get it biopsied. So, I'm currently unable to drink. Which sucks, because I could really use a few beers. Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted March 28, 2021 Super User Posted March 28, 2021 May go tweak some tackle and have a nice pour of connemara. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted March 28, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 28, 2021 I had a few Diet Millers last night. My son and I met up with another father son duo at a local baseball field today and let the boys play and I was reminded I’m old, broken and out of shape! My groin and hamstring are extremely sore tonight. I should’ve hit the hard stuff tonight to ease the pain. ? Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 28, 2021 Super User Posted March 28, 2021 A friend of mine shared this. So tonight I'm drinking vicariously through him It's not nearly as good as being there. Cookie looks pretty good though. A-Jay 1 Quote
