Love this time of year. So, being from Michigan, you are familiar with my new favorite beer. Founder’s Breakfast Stout. YUM! Quote
Michigander Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Oh yes, excellent choice! I enjoy that one especially on tap at their brewery when I'm over that way. Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted December 3, 2020 Super User Posted December 3, 2020 Tonight me and the old lady will be chowing on some smoked pulled pork tacos with some salsa and homemade pickled jalapenos. I plan to wash it down with a couple cans of Shiner Bock. Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted December 13, 2020 Super User Posted December 13, 2020 The wife and I enjoyed a “peanut butter cup” cocktail. 3oz Skrewball peanut butter whiskey 1oz Godiva chocolate liqueur 1oz milk pinch of salt (optional) like drinking candy! 2 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted December 14, 2020 Author Super User Posted December 14, 2020 That sounds good. 1 Quote

ThatZX14Fella Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 I guess I need more Miller. I can't even catch a one pound bass. I did catch about a one pound skipjack earlier, though. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 14, 2020 Global Moderator Posted December 14, 2020 I prefer my drinks at 6:30AM, like a normal midnight shift worker ?. A "Royal Iced Coffee", has been doing it for me in the mornings lately. 1 Oz Crown Royal Vanilla 1.5 Oz Starbucks Blonde Roast Iced Coffee 1/2 Oz Bourbon Maple Syrup 1 Oz Heavy Cream 3 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted December 14, 2020 Global Moderator Posted December 14, 2020 I’ve been fortunate to have always worked the standard hours, so this is always hard to wrap my brain around. ? My BIL has done 2nd and 3rd shift over the years and has enjoyed a drink or two about the time I’m getting up. Just like when I’m heading in to work the bars are open and people are filling it (not now of course). Quote
Super User scaleface Posted December 14, 2020 Super User Posted December 14, 2020 My son buys me a bottle of Whiskey at Christmas every year . Last year it was a big bottle of Makers Mark . Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted December 23, 2020 Global Moderator Posted December 23, 2020 Sitting on the back deck here in Michigan over looking the frozen lake having some Miller Lites while it 52 degrees on December 23rd, who woulda thunk it! 2 Quote

What we're getting now could hit you late tomorrow or Christmas day depending on what direction it takes...we're about the same latitude as Traverse City. This morning when I woke up it was 43 degrees. Currently heavy, blowing snow - travel except for emergencies is NOT recommended. 7"-11" expected by tomorrow morning. Wind chills tonight could hit -35 to -40. High tomorrow...5 above. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted December 23, 2020 Global Moderator Posted December 23, 2020 Lakeshore 4” is inland about 1” by the end of the day tomorrow. The bottom is going to fall out on this by midnight. 50 mph winds are on our way. 1 Quote
DanielG Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 It's Christmas eve. I'm breaking out the good stuff. Diet Moxie. Maine's official state drink. No kidding. It's good stuff. Liquid tar with a touch of kerosene. Not actually just the taste. If you've never had any, you get the same facial reaction as someone who has straight whiskey for the first time. It's not good to drink this stuff alone though... 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 24, 2020 Super User Posted December 24, 2020 I basically grew up drinking that...well not the diet version...straight up. ? I’m not much of a carbonated soft drink consumer but my father stocks up in moxie after he closes his house up in ME for the winter. You can’t find here anymore tho. It’s a very regional soft drink. Kinda like the old days. ? Merry Christmas @DanielG! Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 24, 2020 Super User Posted December 24, 2020 Looks good. I used to drink White Pirates that looked like that. Great for this time of year but, man!, you can pack some lbs on drinking’em Quote
Whatever Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 After a long miserable day in a cold, wet saddle, I cannot imagine anything finer than sitting by the stove in a warm tent with a hot buttered rum. Myers was always a favorite, but dark Bacardi was an excellent substiture. It has been my preferred backcountry drink for 40 years. Quote
