Super User DitchPanda Posted March 8 Super User Posted March 8 Picked up a bulleit BIB tonight...from what I understand its 7 years and its their own distillate. Basically the same exact specs as heaven hill BIB but I like this better. Its got some toasted hazelnut and earthiness with more sweetness on the nose than the palate. Its kinda different. 1 Quote

My son turned me onto this brand several years ago with a 4 pack of double IPA’s or maybe imperial IPA’s that were some of the best tasting beers I’ve ever had but man did they sneak up on you 😬which is why they probably only sold them in the 4 pack😆 Tonight I’m indulging in Yuengling as it’s finally been brought to Illinois even though It’s been sold in Indiana for 🤔 I have no idea how long😉 4 Quote
herder Posted March 16 Posted March 16 This is the last one I have, an old time favorite that was resurrected this year in an special pack that was pretty much only in Costco. I really enjoyed it on a cool and cloudy day here in the northeast. 3 Quote

herder Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I agree 100%, that is one of the beers I always looked forward to when fall weather started. Sitting around the fire pit with one on the first cool night was just perfect. Quote
Eric 26 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) I don’t know if anyone remembers Goose Island’s HexNut Brown Ale but that along with Michelob’s Honey Lager were my favorite winter beers. Edited March 16 by Eric 26 Spelling 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted March 16 Super User Posted March 16 @Eric 26 Everything I’ve had from Goose Island I’ve loved. Don’t think I’ve tried the Hex Nut. Their Next Coast IPA is top ten for me. 1 Quote
Eric 26 Posted March 16 Posted March 16 @Jar11591 Unfortunately Goose Island no longer brews a brown ale which they stopped even before being bought up, although I don’t drink a lot of their beers the standard IPA they brew is solid and very consistent taste wise. I’m not sure if anyone remembers JW Dundees honey brown lager but that’s the closest to the Michelob Honey that was only available in a Christmas 12 pack. 1 Quote
