Nice!  That sounds like a good day (and a bad headache for me the next day).

Well I'm not planning on having enough to hurt me, although when you get buddies together on a nice fall day things happen. So my plan is to control my intake, however I'm having my wife drive me just in case.

First drinks in a few weeks today, I was sick part of the time and honestly wasn't feeling it outside of that...but todays the day. Started with a 1oz pour of Tin Cup 10yr...right now I'm enjoying a knob creek 7 year rye old fashioned. After supper tonight ill have a nightcap of Russell's reserve single barrel.

I ran across a really good sale on Fireball handles at $20.00 apiece with a $4.00 rebate and bought 2 for $16.00 apiece. My wife likes it over ice but I prefer to mix it and considering we didn’t have any ginger ale which is my preferred choice I tried it with Cola and found I actually like it.IMG_3918.jpeg.ff7ff5bd4cc497bf700c9808b0e4aca2.jpeg

Hannibal lecter admits in an interview that he ate a guy with some fava beans and washed it down with a nice bottle of Chianti. Thats why @12poundbass posted the GIF of Hannibal

I’m not much of a wine drinker but my wife is and she’s become a fan of SnoopDog watching him as a judge on The Voice.  I saw this in the store the other day and picked her up a bottle for a stocking stuffer this Christmas.

We made a pact to not buy any more bourbon this weekend since we spent so much on our trip to Kentucky last month, but when you go to a bar/store where you can buy a pour and try it before you buy it...well...here we are.  These are both fantastic.  Caused us to break our oaths.

@BigAngus752 The pour before you buy idea is freaking brilliant. I know I’ve done it with craft beer and I’m happy to say there were a few that I’m glad I didn’t purchase before trying and a few I’m glad I did purchase before trying.

There have been several times that I've read descriptions of the palate and finish on a bottle that costs $150 and was sure I wanted it, but then found a bar that would sell me a pour and was thankful that I didn't buy it.  I wish I could take a rod on the water for a day before paying for it.  I've got a couple hanging on the wall that could have been money better spent elsewhere.

I've never tried anything from smoke wagon but I've always been intrigued. I picked up a bottle of Larceny barrel proof B524 and an  old Ezra full proof 7yr rye the other day, I'm excited to try those. Pickens are usually slim here but I also saw like 6 bottles of Ben Holladay soft red wheat rickhouse proof, 6 bottles of Elijah Craig barrel proof C924 and 2 bottles of knob creek 12.

I'm not much of a drinker but whenever State(N C State) beats unc(university of north carolina) in the annual football rivalry football game, i sip on one bourbon, neat, afterwards.

All of those are good ones.  Our favorites out of those are EC C924 and Knob creek 12.  We are never without a Knob 12 in the cupboard.  It's smooth, caramel-ly, and very consistent from bottle to bottle.

So the Larceny and the Ezra rye are both delicious. The same day I got those I picked up a Benchmark top floor and 2XO French oak, both of which are pretty meh. I wish I would have skipped those 2 and picked up a backup bottle of KC 12, that's some yummy stuff.

I got a bottle of basil Hayden dark rye. Didn't realize it had port in the blend somehow. Very different. Sweet. Terrible old fashioned, could be good Manhattan I think or just on the rocks.

Somehow I always come back to either bullet or knob Creek.

This is my nightcap tonite.  I was a rye guy before I was a bourbon guy.  I'm blessed to have a plethora of outstanding ryes right now ("Jefe, what is a plethora?") but I'm on a mission to find a Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye.  I've tried it twice in bars and love it.  This one is very good one in the meantime.

I've actually got a middle west spirits dark pumpernickel rye cask strength store pick on my counter for today. Winter is rye season!
