I didn’t know the mountain man Jim bridger made booze, but leave it to @NorcalBassin who lives on a mountain to find it

Thanksgiving beers, one from a local brewery and an old standby colder weather beer.

Went out to our local sushi place tonight and was shocked to see they had Orion. Been wanting to try it for a couple years after seeing Ben from The Hookup Tackle have one nearly every Sunday morning and rave about it. Not sure I could pick it out of a lineup with other lagers, but I'd gladly get one again next time.

2023 has been the year of Wild Turkey for me. Ive been through quite a few bottles of Rare Breed and Russell’s but I have to be honest. The Makers 46 cask strength is insanely good for the money. I don’t usually go for Makers products but this one’s a winner

Agreed...the makers 46 cask strength is delicious. Picked one up about a month ago and I'm really enjoying it.

Wife and I went to a charity bourbon raffle tonite.  Huge score for us.  Our names came up early and I got my second pick and she got her first pick.  We've already opened both.  The Remus Gatsby is so good it's tough to put into words.  It's 15 years old and so smooth it seems even older.  All cinnamon and vanilla.  Outstanding.

I am out of town (traveling) and found a liquor store that carries difficult to find liquors. Please inform me of a scotch, whiskey, or bourbon that I need to look for that will not burn a giant hole in my wallet! Recommendations ASAP please!

Maybe a little late but After Shock with some sprite or gingerale, it's a hard to find cinnamon schnapps that's git a sweet front and a spicy/cooling back

Teachers is good for an affordable scotch. Mcclellands islay is better but not really hard to find . From there on up you burn the hole in your wallet

If it’s for work he’s on per diem which is VERY generous with my company! Hit up the top shelf beverage! 😎

I'm back to the basics tonight, Natty light lemonade. I don't have an off switch, the more I drink the more I drink. I love me a good whisky sour or long Island, but if I'm drinkin I'm drinkin - the beers keep me more level.

But I could probably use a night wit the boyz, just goofin off and drinkin til it's unclear if I'm awake or asleep. Sometimes I miss the good ol days

@12poundbass @TnRiver46 someone at the store convinced me I should try Rieger’s which is a Kansas City whiskey. Sort of a unique deal. There were a couple hard to find bottles that they were looking for as well but the store didn’t have them at the time.

Bringing the bottle back to Texas with me

My everyday go to is a gin and tonic.  My daily gin is just Seagram's London Dry, tonic and a fresh lime. (I really like tonic and can drink tonic with a lime and no gin but, that's silly talk...)  My best buddy in our annual Christmas bottle swap gave me a bottle of Wilde Irish Gin.  The botanicals in this gin are evident to the nose before it ever hits your lips. (olfactory sense is most of taste, think a good, fresh tomato)

A new level of gin and tonic!

Had to grab something with a little proof to it to hold up in the 'nog. I was shocked to see a bottle of Pappy's behind the counter of our little mountain liquor store. Owner said it's only the second bottle of it they've ever had. $1600... no thank you and I'll stick with the 114!

About to have a wee glass of Port. I opened the bottle last night while I watched Die Hard, followed by the first quarter of the New England - Denver game.

Put on How The Grinch Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas this morning. It's almost 3:30 PM over here so this will pair nicely with The Wrath of Khan.

Recently picked up a bottle of OGD bonded because I had it recommended several times but was unimpressed. I don't mind the beam profile, in fact I like knob creek 9 and my Jim Beam single barrel, but the OGD BIB didn't hit right--maybe it will grow on me. Have heard the 114 is much better, what do you think of it?
