Highly recommend! Straight? Rocks? Coke? Cream soda? Sounds really good if you can actually notice the cinnamon and caramel. Actually was able to differentiate nuances. The cinnamon and caramel got me curious here, but I think straight shots would alert my wife, the knot creek was over my cousins crib 1 Quote

You should be able to find it (with a lot of searching) for $75 or so. It's epic. We have one bottle of Knob 12 and two bottles of a 11yr 3mos bottle of Knob Creek Select called "Thrilla N Vanilla". We wish we had bought more than 2. If you like the Knob I can tell you that the Larceny B523 has a similar flavor profile but it's got more ethanol "bite". But of course it hasn't been aged as long. Watering things down with an ice cube can really smooth some bourbons. 1 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted September 11, 2023 Super User Posted September 11, 2023 A bit weaker than I'd like but still not too bad for a cold brew coffee while watching some football. 1 Quote

My lady hates whiskey but I showed her this and she said wow that may actually be good. Btw I did a little research on your coffey grain and Coffey refers to the type of still used, the guys last name that invented it, not coffee as in the beverage. 1 Quote
Junger Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Starting early tonight....came back from a long fishing trip to a bunch of work that was out of my control, but I have to clean it up. The amount of crap requires a hazmat. 1 Quote

I watch several bourbon channels on YouTube that are always talking them up and I've seen that JD has put out a bunch of interesting bottles the past few years. Next bottle hunt I go on I may have to pick up something from them. Quote

If you're lucky, you might come across their annual special release. Their lower proof stuff is OK, but not as viscous and flavorful. Quote

It's impossible to find for the retail price though. They just recently started putting out a regular shelf offering for of their Single Barrel BS Rye (a little younger than the 2020 Release), and it's still fantastic. Not quite as oaky and musty as the 2020 Special Release Rye, but for ~$70, it's really good. I did a blind side by side between the two ryes with some friends, and we were split 50/50 between them. I'm not a fan of the single barrel 94 proof rye though, it's thin and tannic. Quote
