You made some pretty good choices there.  I'm a rye drinker and if someone tells me they really want to learn to drink rye, the Woodford is the very first one I suggest.  It's a 51% mashbill so it's just enough to be able to call itself a rye and it retains that mellow, caramel palate.  We keep a 1.5L of the WT101 under the counter to mix with Coke Zero.

If you like the Woodford Rye and want to try another rye, look for Old Forester Rye 100.  You should be able to find it for $25-$30 dollars and it's the best rye at that price point IMDO (In My Drunken Opinion).

The Woodford is solid...I've been looking for the forester rye but haven't seen it around here. The Evan Williams BIB was surprisingly good for the money...not incredible whiskey by any means but for like $19 pretty darn good. The mellow corn is unique.

I'm impressed that you bought them this week and have tried all of them already. ?

The Woodford is the only one I've had a full pour of...I've only had a half pour, like 1oz or less of the other 2 just to get a hold on what they are bringing. The Williams BIB surprised me, better than I anticipated. I've had 101 plenty so I know what it is, just wanted the cool turkey embossed bottle . Next bottle I'm looking at hard is Barrel Seagrass Rye...Its finished in Martinique rum, Madeira and apricot brandy casks. I'm more of a rye guy than bourbon, I dig the spice and the combo of that with the apricot sweetness combo intrigues me.

Augustiner Edelstoff, my favorite beer. My local store finally restocked it. Went to the brewhaus in Munich in my mid-20's and have some great memories of it.

In Hershey, PA this week for work and stopped in the famous Tröegs Brewery. Tried the Dreamweaver wheat beer, easily top 5 beers I’ve ever had. Had to fill a growler to take home. FDB56BEB-86CF-4F11-A3BE-49E250E31B9A.thumb.jpeg.04c945e635e0da8c5e625ff8fa8f1a4b.jpeg

Enjoying the spoils of my efforts today. Even though I was limping through most of it.

I went to Hershey for work about 5 years ago and went there one evening. The brew was pretty good.

I stayed an extra day and hit up Hershey Park. The rollercoasters there are ridiculous.

I was working at the Tanger Outlets, right across the street from the park. We were looking up at the roller coasters while working. There is a massive one made entirely of wood, and it looks insane. We were in awe.

Anybody like plain old Makers Mark? Thinking of picking up a bottle ...haven't had it in 15+years don't remember anything about it.

Had to grab some plants at the nursery and figured I might as well see if the liquor store nearby had anything interesting. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a bottle of the new JD single barrel, barrel proof rye I'd been hoping to find somewhere. This one is 138.2 proof... thinking I may need some ice with that pour!

I got one a few weeks ago, and it's really good. I did a side by side blind with some friends, and 4 of us were split 50/50 between this release, and the 2020 special release. If you can get it for SRP (~$75) it's a great bottle.

There's nothing that stands out about it IMO. I prefer MM46, or even MMCS over it.

Dessert with a kick.  Pretty sweet but good. We actually got it because our friend who flew in from Australia has 2 Brittany Spaniels and wanted the bottles.  He couldn’t take them on the plane full soooooo…..?

My next trip is to Wisconsin and while the Spotted Cow is definitely on the list, I will be taking some of our local craft beers for my brother in law who is part owner of a brewery in St Augustine Florida.  He will bring a bunch of their brews as well.  Check them out if you’re ever in the area.  They brew some fine beers.  https://www.oldcoastales.com/

Youngest recently graduated high school and my brother-in-law graciously gave me a bottle of Blanton's as a gift at the party. Needless to say, it was pours for anyone who wanted one. I'd never tried it and although it wasn't the best pour I've had it was a special one I'll remember whenever I come across it again.

I know it’s not even close to being decent, after spooling and then working with 6lb monofilament to attach a barrel swivel I’m getting some kind of alcohol in me ?8182D644-F13C-43A2-B5FA-33361B0BA72E.thumb.jpeg.4f2616794965032460f448dd996610ea.jpeg
