I am looking to upgrade my rods and reels I am looking to upgrade to kastking is that company any good I know some of the pros use them

I bought a Kastking Spartacus baitcast reel cause it was cheap to try out. I don't like it at all. It's physically pretty but I can't get it dialed in to cast properly.

Just curious, what are you upgrading from to consider Kast King?

I am upgrading from a bass pro tourney special  rod and reel and a quantum bill dance signature series rod and a diawa samari

I have a few of their speed demon pro rods - very nice rods for ~100 bucks.

I got an assassin baitcaster - felt nice and cast very well but had problems pretty quickly.  I was able to fix it on my own after dealing with their customer service that was 0 help.  Never liked the reel though - it felt unrefined and cheap.

I have a contron spinning reel I got on a black friday sale for 20 bucks and it has worked flawlessly.

I recently received their new new speed demon elite and it feels very nice and works very well.  Granted I have only  used it a bit but so far I like it.

Your basically making a lateral move,  Kastking comes out of the Doyo  or similar factory just like the bass pro reels, Lews and most Abu Garcia reels, in fact you can often swap internals between some of these reels, they mostly just have different "Body kits".

Depending on your budget I would consider Daiwa or Shimano if you plan on keeping the reel for any length of time, otherwise Kastking is adequate if your replacing something worn out and just need to get back on the water.

Supposedly they have some higher end reels out now though but it looks like even those or at least some of them have graphite frames..

I have a few Kastking speed Demon Pro's, rods and reels and have been very satisfied with performance.

I've had good luck with the Speed Demon rods and reels, the Royal Legend Elite casting reels, the Sharky II and III spinning reels, and Assassin casting reel. I use their Super Power braid a lot as well as their sun gloves.

The problem when you get into their upper end stuff, is you can can get some really nice gear from other companies too. I'm mainly running Daiwa and I couldn't suggest a Speed Demon casting reel over a Fuego that you can find for cheaper.

I have a number of KK rods and reels and never had any problems. My favorite spinning reel is Sharky lll and baitcaster is the Crixus Armor X.

I wanted to like Kastking because they're so budget friendly, but the only time I had one in my hand it squealed like a shot hog.  I wrote them off and spent 65 bucks on my first Daiwa Fuego CT, and have been spooling up Daiwa reels ever since.

If you don't want to drop the 80-90 bucks a bulletproof Fuego runs, my bottom barrel reel recommendation is the Abu Garcia Black Max.

I have both a KK spinning and a casting setups using the Royal Legend products and I like them over some much more expensive products I have.

I would recommend the Kastking Crixus Armor X baitcaster and the Kastking Megatron spinning reel.

Those 2 reels from their lineup give the best value for your dollar. Both have aluminum frames and are priced right (especially when they go on sale) for a company that claims they keep prices low by eliminate the middle man and selling online.

These reels will be an upgrade from what you are currently using.

Kastking rods are great. The Perigee II series is a great value rod that looks and performs well above what it costs.

Well, I have 4 or 5 Kastking reels that I bought all at once just to see what the buzz was about. I would sell them pretty cheap. None of them have been used more than once and those 2 for less than an hour.

I will hang onto the Sharky III I bought though. I actually like it so far. It's not a Stradic but then I didn't pay for a Stradic either.

That reel is a hidden gem. I liked the Sharky II but they knocked it out of the park with the III

I have to totally agree here. I have the megatron and just ordered an Armor X. I absolutely love my megatron. it's smooth and performs flawlessly. I have it on a Kastking Resolute 6'6 medium/fast rod. I bought a Royale Legend GT($40) not to long ago as my first baitcaster ever. I don't know much about baitcasters but the GT seems fine to me a couple of months into use. I got the Armor X because I've just heard so many good things about it and I'd imagine it would be a step up or two performance wise from the GT.

No experience with the reels, but my father has a speed demon cranking rod that is really, really wobbly. It catches fish though, if you are looking for budget the best rods I have found under $100 are by far and away the new Powell Diesel rods. Super light and sensitive, no warranty but for $89 or less on sale that doesn’t really make a difference to me.

You are trading plastic cheapies  for plastic cheapies.  I would recommend stepping up to an slx or fuego ct.  Maybe try a kastking centrifugal reel to see if you like that braking system.  Most do because it allows you to sling baits out their with lower spool tension and not have the bait not feel choked off at the end when casting like is common then slinging baits with magnetic reels.  Maybe try something like a spratacus.  If you like that then move on to shimanos, centrifugal lews and magforce z daiwas.
