Original Daiwa Tatula = ???

I am looking to buy my son in law his first bait casting setup. I started using my original Daiwa Tautla 721HFB rated 3/8-1 1/2 oz 12-25 lb line to throw 4.8 Keitechs on a flashy swimmer and it has worked great. He caught 3 on this setup today and wants one of his own.

 

Since you can't get these rods any more what would be compatible to this in the $100-125 range?

I was just not sure how the new ones compared to the originals. For example I know Dobyns would need a mag heavy to equal a regular heavy in most other brands.

The new blanks have a little softer action than the original black and gold rods, but they're still pretty true to the power. Rods are a little heavier overall weight, but balance better.

Dobyns = 735C
