Super User A-Jay Posted June 7, 2020 Super User Posted June 7, 2020 In the world of make believe, if you could receive the absolute truth to one specific question regarding your own bass fishing, what would it be? Now I can see this one going all over the map with quires like; Where can I catch the next World Record bass ? What bait will a bass eat every time they see it ? When is the best time to fish for the big ones ? Why do bass hate me ? After quite a bit of deliberation, I would simply like to know where the biggest brown bass spend the summer in the larger lakes I fish, because they are sure hard to find. #clueless What say you ? VolFan Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 Where should i spend my time for maximum happiness? Brown fish in rivers? Green fish or spots in lakes? Just take up catfishing and novels? 3 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted June 7, 2020 Super User Posted June 7, 2020 What is the exact seasonal pattern that largemouths follow on my lake? Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted June 7, 2020 Super User Posted June 7, 2020 Since I'm relatively new to lakes, my question would be approximately the same as yours: "Where do lake bass go in the heat?" I see @MN Fisher thinks the same way I do. It's really an age-old problem. Can't catch'em if you can't find'em. jj Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted June 7, 2020 Global Moderator Posted June 7, 2020 Mine is simple. Why am I a dink magnet, and a brown bass repellent? 6 Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 Where is the place to be on any given day? I'll figure out the lure myself. Variety is the spice of life. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted June 7, 2020 Super User Posted June 7, 2020 There is a section of lake that I know holds a number of bass off shore . Its an elec motor only lake so its hard to spend a lot of time dissecting it . I want to know where that spot is . There are creek channels connecting somewhere out there and I sure would like to find them . Thats my question . Where is this spot ? 3 Quote

I bet if you could find the channel anywhere you could tail it back to the intersections you're looking for! Quote

Yes , I take a depth finder there every time and have fished channel ledges with no results . I still think there is a sweet spot with some large bass living there . It takes a lot of time with a slow electric motor to zigzag back and forth across the channels . I have planned on dedicating a whole day to it just havent done it . 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 7, 2020 Super User Posted June 7, 2020 When will I catch a fish so big, that when I tell of it afterward, I won't need to lie about how big it was? 4 Quote

The Bassman Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 The biggest question I have is why certain ponds I fish have suddenly and precipitously dropped in fish size and production while others continue to yeid both size and quantity. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted June 7, 2020 Super User Posted June 7, 2020 Easy question, "what is the best baitcaster for $100" LOL In all seriousness, it would also be where to find bass when the water warms up and the temperature soars in the summer. With the water temps here hitting 84-88 and the day time temps reaching 96 it has been VERY difficult to find them and I am certainly not finding them in bunches. 2 Quote

A-Jay The late Doug "Skinny" Harris tied hair jigs for me during the late 80's to early 90's ask if he could give a few jigs to his friend who fishes for Smallmouth bass records in Texas. I only remember the 1st name was Ron he held 4 out of 5 the top Smallmouths. I asked Skinny what Ron used to catch these big Smallies? The answer was Ron only fishes at night and uses black single spin with red blade and red trailers on steep breaks with stumps between 8' to 12' deep. The answer may be fish at night. Tom 2 Quote
Super User Koz Posted June 7, 2020 Super User Posted June 7, 2020 How many times has my bait crossed the path of a 10lb+ bass and that bass ignored the bait? Of course, the answer to this question might break my heart. 1 Quote
