primetime Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 I started using the Gambler Ace several years ago because they make a firetail color that I love & not available from most companies....Our local stores started carrying them and glad I started using them.... Both are "Expensive" compared to other brands, but I try to use GYB Senkos & Swim Senkos and I actively look for sales, and with Florida having liquidators etc.. You can get them for under $5 a bag at times, or on ebay or overstock. With that said, I also use all the other brands, Ocho, BPS, Dinger etc.... and they all work well, can't say for sure one is better than another as there are too many variables and be tough to actually prove. The Ocho is probably the best value and I like the design and colors, so I have plenty of confidence with it. I used to like the Wave Worms....They had a super soft one and some swirls that were also good. I still have no idea why a stick worm works as well as it does. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted June 8, 2020 Super User Posted June 8, 2020 I do not wish to offend, but I find it strange that bass anglers will spend $25K and up on a bass boat (and X amount on maintenance, storage, etc.), purchase numerous $200, $300 and up rods and reels, yet will balk at purchasing a 10 ct bag of Senkos if over $5.00. Sure, if you can buy them cheaper, save some $$ (I just bought 4 packs for $23.96 from Scheels). But if they cost $7.95, I’d buy ‘em. 3 Quote

Almost everyone of my rods/reels were bought on sale, most were significant discounts. Same with tackle the last 7-10 years, most was gifts or bought on one of the holiday sales from different shops, but mostly TW. I run a 2006 Lunker v16 that was like 12k new back then. No fancy electronics, just something to tell me the depth and if there are weeds or not, no video game fishing for me;) For me if I can catch say 10-15 fish per menace grub or tube vs 1-2 per senko, the math says go with the first 2 options. I think the above statement applies to many on this site, not just me. We all try to squeeze as many toys as possible out of our budgets, than the bait monkey usually finds some more in the cushions;) Quote
Primus Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 I will pay the extra for the Senkos as I don't fish stick worms as often as most other fisherman in my area though I tend to use them the most around the spawn. The other one I really like is the 5.5" Reaction Innovations Pocket Rocket. I found the Mustad Wacky O-ring works better than the standard O RINGS and helps the Senko's to last longer as well . 1 Quote
