Jim Sutter Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Please tell me about them. How good are they? How should I fish them? My fingers don't work as good as i would like. Its hard for me to rig a swim bait. That's why I'm thinking about buying some these pre-rigged swim baits. Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Half of them run on their side and the other half catch the occassional fish. I haven't been impressed in the least by the prerigged baits and recently the Storm 360 GT. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 4, 2020 Super User Posted June 4, 2020 I usually fish all brown bass locally so I do not use them here. However, the 5 & 6 inch baits have been very good for me on big green bass south of the border. Need to fish them low & slow - bait will not run true at speed. They have an unusual 'action' - one that may or may not look 'natural', but we HAMMER bog fish with these baits. Finally Mend-It glue repairs most tears that occur so baits can be used many times over. Good Luck A-Jay 2 Quote

Slow is the name of the game there so hopefully they run true. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 4, 2020 Global Moderator Posted June 4, 2020 Spend a few more dollars on some pre-rigged Savage Gear soft baits and you'll be much better off. 1 Quote

Super User WRB Posted June 4, 2020 Super User Posted June 4, 2020 For whatever reason the Mexican bass like the larger size Storm swimbaits. Storm are made using salt water plastisol that tends to be harder stiffer plastic that can take a bent set and swim poorly. Boiling the swimbait and hanging by the hook eye to cool can fix the bent set issue. I use Huddleston's Tom Quote
Jim Sutter Posted June 4, 2020 Author Posted June 4, 2020 Thank you, for all of your replies. A lot of great information. None of it I knew. From what you folks have said I will stay away from storm swimbaits. Quote

I've got a couple that are pretty old now, they're a load. On 6/4/2020 at 8:35 AM, cgolf said: You used the smaller ones at all? I was going to use some 3” ones around reeds for green bass. walleyecrazy Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 I’ve caught a ton of walleye over the years on the 4” wildeye swim shads slow rolled along the bottom of one of my local rivers. I haven’t really fished them much when I was targeting bass though. Quote
