Super User scaleface Posted June 5, 2020 Super User Posted June 5, 2020 I like Dingers on a Texas rig but I dont care for the slit . The hook point always seems to be barely protuding and getting snagged up .I'm thinking about rigging them sideways . Anybody try that ? Dont see why it wouldnt work just fine . 1 Quote

I've caught an awful lot of fish on the dingers. Every place I fish is heavily pressured. I tried some senkos because I heard how much better they were. I don't think I caught anything on the whole pack...fight the stupid 0-rings and having baits fall off the hook. I went back to the dingers. I use the O-Rings on all my stick baits, Dingers included. The benefits that everyone say all the time is the worm lasts longer and they are harder to shake off the hook is true. However the one benefit I like that few speak about is more of the hook is exposed when the hook is passed under the ring rather than through the worm. I find a better hookup ratio with the ring. Super User Boomstick Posted June 5, 2020 Super User Posted June 5, 2020 I have no idea why they increased the size, but that's a good buy. I've had decent luck with Yum Dingers, and will certainly carry a few with me if nothing else for a backup. My goto stickbaits are either a Senko or Strike King KVD Ocho which I think has a little better action than a Senko but doesn't last as long (at least they're cheaper) Quote
Shimano_1 Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 I fish the dingers exclusively and have seen several occasions that they out fished the senko. Can't argue with the senkos effectiveness but I refuse to pay that much for stick baits. My buddy fishes senkos all the time tho so we have compared them a bunch Quote

I have a new one but I didn't catch any fish. Talked to a Sheriff about Anderson Lake being drained and how that would affect the creek/ponds. It's the only interesting thing in the video probably. Having a rough start this year. Going out to Calero in the kayak Sunday so hopefully I'll have something to show for it. As for the topic I tried my Dingers the past few times out but nothing has worked yet (it ain't the worms). I actually prefer worms without the weedless slot. I find that jabbing the hook in a worm keeps the point hidden better. I rig 'em sideways or upsidedown because of it. Good cheap baits. 1 1 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted June 13, 2020 Super User Posted June 13, 2020 Because of this thread I recently bought my first and only pack of Dingers. Caught one small bass yesterday but lost the bait (somehow slipped off the O ring). Went back to Senkos and caught a few more. Went out out this morning. Figured I’d try the Dingers again. Caught 11 bass in 90 minutes on a weightless wacky rig. They do sink slower. Maybe that’s good at times and maybe not. Today it was darned good! I think I may have to buy a few more packs (after the four packs of Senkos I just bought are gone lol) and keep testing. Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted June 13, 2020 Super User Posted June 13, 2020 I rank stick baits I use as follows: 1. Senkos 2. Dingers 3. Big bites 4. Stik-os. That being said, I use dingers most of the time. Cheaper , and work fine for me. They last longer too. Quote

They definitely last longer! 1 Quote

I rig em to use the slit at first, but when it gets torn I rig it sideways, then upside down. I cant tell any difference- any position catches fish. 1 Quote
