Super User Log Catcher Posted June 2, 2020 Super User Posted June 2, 2020 I caught a 6" bass on a 6" lizard. Quote
JustinCT Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Happens to me more times than I'd like to admit. Some bass I've caught are even smaller than the bait. 1 Quote
DanielG Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Not with bass but pickerel will try and swallow things larger than they are. They're mean. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted June 3, 2020 Super User Posted June 3, 2020 When I lived in the northeast, that was the unseemly trait of yellow perch. On countless occasions, a yellow perch would hit a lure about 80% its length. Is that conceit or imagination? Roger Quote
Smells like fish Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 For the fish loving nerd something interesting to look up is the Black Swallower fish. It can swallow twice its length and ten times its mass. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 3, 2020 Global Moderator Posted June 3, 2020 Happens all the time. This one was last week, my only Slammer bite of the day, on my first cast of the day with it. 1 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted June 3, 2020 Super User Posted June 3, 2020 I caught a 4" bass on a full size Zara Spook one time. Sometimes, those little bass will hit almost anything. Quote

It is this type of thing that leads me to believe that the poats about "line visibility" and "lure colors" just don't matter that much. That is like trying to naw the filet off the cow, while the cow is still alive. Quote
