I had this depth finder for a year now and it just won’t properly read for me... lowrance said it’s my transducer position but I tried everything... like today no depth or bottom is given...

Have you tried updating the software for it?  Lowrance released a newer version of software, and while it wasn't made to address the issues you're having, if the old software is corrupted, it would fix that.  That would be the first thing I would do, as that would also reset any weird settings you may have accidentally engaged that could be causing those issues.

From there, I'd try cleaning out the connectors for the transducer with some electrical contact cleaner and reseat it a bunch of times.

My old Lowrance Elite 5 HDI went on the blink after a few years and started showing wacky readings every half a second - 2 feet, 30 feet, 6 feet, blink, blink, blink, etc. Same with temp and the picture went nuts, too.

I cleaned the connectors and packed them with dielectric grease and it immediately fixed the problem. That was a couple of years ago.

Do not use dielectric grease on these connectors. They seat differently than most other graphs, and they won't seat with the grease. And it'll take you forever to clean it all out.

Ask me how I know.

It is a very common problem with the hook series. I had the same issues back when i had one. There are other threads here somewhere about it. I dont know if anybody resolved it or not. I replaced mine. Had to mess with it almost everytime i went fishing. Multiple times in a day oftem times.

I know doing a hard reset would fix it temporarily. I dont remember how to do the reset but google knows. Try that if you havent already. Its not hard to do, i just dont remember how.

Yup, bought Hook 2 5 inch with triple shot transducer… worked fine for 4 months in salt water kayaking then my battery got corroded and broke a pin so had to get a new  nocqua battery. They then recommended putting the dielectric grease on all my fittings and battery fittings. Now the transducer plug will not stay fully connected.l to the fish finder. Tried rubbing alcohol and a needle to clean out each of the pin holes but still will not make a tight connection (unless I hold it with a lot of force… ) any ideas???

You still have grease in the actual port on the unit. Gonna have to clean it out, too. If it's still not seating, keep cleaning. It took me like 2 hours to get it all out.
