How hard is it to paint a 16' long, 73" wide aluminum boat?

The paint on the bottom of this boat has chipped off and I'm concerned about flipping the boat over, or cocking the boat to one side to clear the bunks on the trailer. I'm not sure how to go about this and would appreciate any suggestions

I'm also thinking of using a HVLP sprayer on this in my garage. Will I have a problem with overspray; do I need to cover EVERYTHING in the garage?

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to go about this.

my cousin just finished his 16 footer.  he used spray cans from menards and it turned out really sharp looking.  he just left it on the trailer and painted as much of the bottom as he could.  the overspray wasnt bad at all.  good luck with it, a new paint job can really makea jon boat look awesme

The project is only as big as you make it.

Im rebuilding my 71 Shakesphere 14'ft and in the build is paint... Although im painting the entire boat after fiberglass and sanding check out the " MY BOAT " Thread in the boating section (I dont know how to put links in) But as you can see im making a larger project than needed. If you looking for a quick job just get some aluminum paint and spray paint the bottom if you use a gun yes you should mask the entire area in your garrage.
