Super User NYWayfarer Posted May 30, 2020 Super User Posted May 30, 2020 Yes. My job closed in late March and even though we opened in early May it has been on a staggered schedule. I report 3 days one week, then 2 days The next. I worked from home the entire month of April. That allowed me to fish before and after work from home hours. Normally I am not able to do so since my commute is an hour each way. On days I work from home with the staggered schedule I have been fishing mornings and after work. Even with the increased pressure from people that discovered fishing while quarantined my numbers are way up this year. 1 Quote
ArthurLK11 Posted May 31, 2020 Posted May 31, 2020 Yea. With all my old spots being closed I got to do some research and find some new spots that I like too. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 31, 2020 Super User Posted May 31, 2020 I doubt that SARS-2 was a 'good' experience for anyone, but it wasn't much of a hardship on Florida anglers. My wife & I were fishing until mid-March, and the ramps in mid-Florida were closed by the end of the month. The ramps that we use were re-opened May 1st, so they were only closed about 1 month. Hopefully the trash states get their crap together and get ppl back to work. So im going to delete the other comment makes me sound like a ****** lol. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 31, 2020 Global Moderator Posted May 31, 2020 Made the lakes crazy packed here. Looked like a holiday weekend on my days off during the middle of the week. Lots of first timers and people trashing the lakes. It's really sucked. Quote
schplurg Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 No. Way too many people. Could only bank fish until a week or so ago. Too many lakes were/are closed that I want to kayak in. I like the empty freeways but no, not good for my fishing at all. I've worked through it the whole time so my fishing time didn't change. The choice and quality of where I can fish has changed. Tackle is harder to find too, though I'm stocked up now. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted June 1, 2020 Super User Posted June 1, 2020 Hard no for me. Nearly every lake here closed for at least a few weeks and we also had to cancel our annual spring father/son trip to Clear Lake. The only option during that time was the Delta, but with only a couple ramps being open resulting in 1-2 hour waits to launch and again to get out it wasn't worth the 3-4 hour round trip drive. It's been great having the lakes open back up, just a little bummed we didn't get to fish the best month of the year here when they could have easily and safely left the local lakes open to county residents.
