G7 worm tubes

I just started trying these.  So far both tubes broke within a few hard casts.  I might have stretched them too much with the pliers.   Hook was inserted through worm as well.  Anyone else try these?

That stinks... not like those things are cheap! I use them for neko rigging senkos and never had an issue, but I prefer crossed o-rings for wacky rigging and haven't used them for that. I will also say I use a pretty gentle casting motion for both of those though techniques... prematurely flung off way too many senkos over the years.

Finally had a tube last more than a fish, just one.  Inspected it afterwards and it looked fine.  Next cast it flew off.  Lost another worm after my next fish but I was able to retrieve the worm.  The tube tore between the two holes created by the hook point.   

 

I am using the 7mm for 5 inch senkos wacky style.

@fishwizzard yes, these are GYCB.  How many fish, average, do you get with your tubing?  I bought the G7 pliers for their tubing but I could use it with any tubing.  Not impressed with G7.

Like 1-5ish.  It mostly depends on how I hook it and how the fish grabs it.  If I use a narrow slice of tubing with the hook set parallel to the worm so it can slide up the hook, they tend to last longer. With a thicker band and the hook pierced through it they don’t last as long if you get into small bas that head-shake with the worm outside of their mouth. 
 

I fish a wacky senko on casting gear, so the main job of the tube is to prevent the worm from flying off the hook midcast.

Either I'm lucky, or rig different than you.

 

I generally get by with 1 or 2 tubes a day.  Most of time, my tubes out last my worms.  I started with the G7 tubes, liked them, but too pricey. 

 

Bought some tube off Amazon, cut it up. Works just as good.

 

I don't run the hook through the tube, but through the plastic under it.  Keeps the hook where I want it. 

 

I skip cast a Neko rig a lot and have no issues.

 

You may want to try a smaller diameter.

That makes me think I am not doing something right.  My first tube ripped on my first cast.  It was a hard cast but it was only one cast.  I am hooking through the worm and tube.

That looks a little tighter than the ones I use I think. My stuff is out in the car in preparation for a trip tomorrow, I’ll grab a picture then. The tubing I use is soft but still takes a little bit of force to cut through with scissors, I don’t think I could cast hard enough to rip it.
