Tadas Sereiva Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 Keitech recommend 3/0 hooks for the 4.3 fat swing impact. I bought 3/0 VMC weighted swimbait hooks, but they were way too small. What brand/hook size works for you? Quote
Michigander Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 The size of hook is less important than how big the Gap is, distance from shank to point. I use Owner Beast hooks nowadays because of the good sized gap. Those VMCs have small gaps from what I can remember. Quote
Shimano_1 Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 pretty sure I use the 4/0 vmc for that size and the 3 for 3.8. Doesn't have a really wide gap but I've had good luck with em Quote
OnthePotomac Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I ended up with 4/0 Gammie EWG in that bait and rig it Texas rigged with 3/16 slip sinker. Quote
Cdn Angler Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 6th Sense Divine 4/0 is good. A 4/0 dirty jigs matt allen head. Gamakatsu also makes a swimbait head with a skinnier head profile in various sizes. I'd like the screw lock best for preserving baits, but the matt allen head looks best and runs even, but baits don't last as long on the keeper IMO. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 22, 2020 Super User Posted May 22, 2020 I can't speak to 'best' size, but with a 4.3" Keitech Fat Swing, I use a 4/0 Gamakatsu weighted spring-lock hook. Roger 1 Quote
