Why would you rig your baitcaster with all flouro?  Seems that with these smaller reel profiles you can't put a whole lot of 20 pound flouro on them.  Can someone advise what the advantage would be to putting all flouro on your baitcaster?  What would be the downfall to doing braid with flouro leader?

Some say that Flouro is more sensitive for bottom contact. IDK if you'd lose any sensitivity by going with braid to flouro leader..

Floro has Lack of line visibility, abrasion resistance, overall toughness, less stretch than monofilament lines.

Advantages of braid, Near zero stretch, cuts through thick vegetation.  I think it's a little more sensitive than floro, no stretch tells, me not much of the vibration is being absorbed, I'm feeling everything.

I could be wrong, but I beleive Tom @WRB (a world class trophy bass catcher in his own right) said that he rarely uses braid in bass rigs, because he just doesnt have the vegetation in his fisheries that would make him want to use it versus straight floro.

I on the other hand,  fish fairly clear lakes that in places are chock full of water willow, hydrilla, milfoil, pond weed, and several species of floating vegetation. I use braid on almost all of my set ups and most of them, I'll tied a leader on.

The only other reason besides your fishing environment to go full braid is to save money.  Braid does cost a more than mono but can be used ALOT LONGER than floro or mono.  I typically use braid for a whole year and then flip it over onto another reel and use the unused end.  I save ALOT of money not buying alot of line every year.

All that said, I do have a couple setups where I run straight floro.  If it wasnt for the mass of vegatation I'd be probably be mostly floro setups.  Except for spinning gear... only leaders for spinning.  I an too short tempered to deal with floro on spinning.  I'd have to own stock in KVD line and lure conditioner.   Braid on spinning gear is a gift from above.

90 % of my rod and reels consist of braid to Flouro leader.

I fish gin clear water with vegetation but also like the abrasion resistant properties of Flouro in rocks and wood The leader also provides a good breaking point when hung.

One piece of advice I'd give if you go this route, learn to tie a reputable leader knot.....prefer Alberto.

If I'm using 20lb fluoro, it's probably going to be pitching jigs or t-rigs into fairly dense cover. Braid offers little abrasion resistance and capacity is really a non-issue as I won't be fishing long distance.

I use all Fluorocarbon on my bottom contact setups but 15lb is the biggest I use. I don't care too much for braid other than for frogs. I like the slack line sensitivity that flouro gives me. I don't use leaders because I'd rather worry about 1 knot failing instead of 2.

The more threads on Bass Resource I've read over the years about line preferences the more I understand it comes down to personal choice. You can tell that some posters are just repeating what they read and see and hear, but lots of opinions here are based on personal experience and personal choice. I guess my point is to try out a bunch of different line options and figure out what works best for you.

For MY preferences, spinning is always braid (to leader).

For MY preferences, baitcasting is not braid.

These preferences are subject to change.............

For me personally I just can't let go of the sensitivity braid offers. So I use the leader to adapt more to the presentation while maintaining that mainline sensitivity and lack of stretch.

I prefer straight fluoro other than for topwater or fishing cover with a moving presentation.  I fish most bottom contact stuff with a bit of slack in the line and braid/leader feels too dead.

I don't like braid a lot admittedly.  I fish it on my spinning gear because it behaves so much better for me. On casting gear I just like every characteristic of fluoro over braid. I keep one with braid for frogs and buzzbaits.  I hate the sound of braid through guides, honestly don't like that there's no stretch at all. I like to swing when I get bit and in my mind I can see me snapping a rod or tearing a fishes mouth with braid. If I were down south punching mats or something I'd use braid for sure. Other than that I prefer fluoro. Everyone has their own tastes tho so use whatever u prefer
