Super User NYWayfarer Posted May 28, 2020 Super User Posted May 28, 2020 http:// Nothing puts finesse gear to the test like Smallmouth Bass. My medium light Lew’s Carbon Fire Speed Stick and size 200 Lew’s Carbon Fire Speed Spin were up to the challenge. Got this guy on a finesse worm and 8lb line. Quote

I am like you. My one experience with ML rods is an old, old, old Berkley Lightning. No problem with small treble lures. I've always assumed if a rod loaded well with a true 1/8 oz., then it shouldn't be too stiff for treble lures. I now have a few more ML rods, but have only been out with each once or twice just to try them. So no way can I say what they are capable of. I really need to find a job in an area with good fishing. Super User Bankbeater Posted January 3, 2021 Super User Posted January 3, 2021 I don't do a lot of finesse fishing with really light tackle. My spinning rig is a size 30 Pflueger president on a 7' BPS micro lite rod. Not an expensive rig, but the rod is great for small crankbaits, and inline spinners. Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted January 4, 2021 Super User Posted January 4, 2021 My current finesse rig is a Pflueger President-25 on a Dobyns Fury 702SF. This coming year, I'm adding an ultra-finesse rig - Mitchell Avocet RZT-1000 on a Diawa Procyon L/F - the old President-20 on an ultra-light rod was just too light. Quote
