Adam Markley Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 The Title says it all, how does everyone decide which kind of bait to throw between say a senko, beaver, and a craw. Thanks 1 Quote
FishinBuck07 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 A lot of it depends on what you are flipping or pitching into cover wise to me! If I am in heavy grass I want something more streamline so it doesn't hang up on the grass on the way in and out, so less appendages. Craws I usually do around docks and laydowns. Just my way, I am sure everyone has their own way! 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted May 18, 2020 Super User Posted May 18, 2020 The most important part for me is having enough weight to make easy pitches .. I like the Yum Dingers a lot and it pairs well with a 1/4 ounce weight . If I want a slower fall , a longer plastic worm with the quarter ounce weight ,like an 8 inch jelly worm . If I go with a skinny 6 inch worm then I need a heavier weight and I'll get a faster fall . Sometimes that fast fall works best . But if I use too light a weight , I cant pitch well at all . Other people may be able to go lighter than I . 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 18, 2020 Super User Posted May 18, 2020 Frankly, whether I'm pitching or casting, my bait choice may be unaffected. By the way, what's a Senko? Roger 1 1 Quote
TBAG Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 I only use Senkos weightless texas rigged or wacky rigged, never for pitching and flipping. I like creature baits or craws. 1 Quote

LCG Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Senko for a slow fall. Craw for something with a little action but not too much. Creature for more action on the fall. All depends what the fish want that day. 4 Quote

I just prefer other worms for weighted presentations, that's the beauty of the Senko, the way it falls weightless. ? Quote

I agree, sometimes it’s nice with a light sliding weight if it’s not getting down fast enough or windy. Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 19, 2020 Super User Posted May 19, 2020 As previously mentioned what am I flipping-n-pitching to. Vegetation, timber, brush, rock, laydowns, docks, ect. Lure selection may or may not be the same. ? 1 Quote
