Strike King Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 whats a good glue to use for carpet? where to buy? minimum temp to use? price? Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 26, 2009 Super User Posted February 26, 2009 I know of 2 kinds of contact cement that I have used for carpet. One is BLOWS YOUR HOUSE UP and the other doesn't have flamable fumes. I get them at a local carpet shop. If you are removing old carpet, lacquer thinner is the best stuff I have found. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 26, 2009 Super User Posted February 26, 2009 Yes that looks like the don't blow your house up kind that I used last time. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted February 27, 2009 Super User Posted February 27, 2009 Both Henry's and the contact cement need to be at 65 degrees for at least 24 hours to work, the longer the better. If temps are a problem, I'll be draping a tarp over my boat this weekend and heating underneath with 3 100w light bulbs. I'm tired of waiting for a warm weekend. Quote
Volman482 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 That's a nice looking rig, although ya might give some thought to upgrading your tow vehicle ;D ;D Quote
chad2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 That's a nice looking rig, although ya might give some thought to upgrading your tow vehicle ;D ;D Yeah i could probably save a little time getting out on the lake if I bought a real vehicle. ;D Quote
bass or bass ? Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 You can get the glue pictured above at Lowe's or Home Depot. Read annd follow directions on the pail and you'll have no trouble and end up with a quality job. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~ Quote
JShrock07 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I use just regular Gorilla Glue (Carpenters Glue)for my carpet if it starts to peel up. I had to use it once last year and it is still holding strong, and its cheap. Quote
