Super User Sam Posted May 16, 2020 Super User Posted May 16, 2020 Well guys, I threw myself on the sword and did an experiment yesterday in a 9-acre pond for members of this Forum and for mother and country. I forced myself to fish for 12-hours throwing all types of baits and presentations out of an old Tracker with a 45 pound trolling motor. And yes, I know you feel my pain because I ache all over today. So what were my results after forcing myself to spend 12-hours fishing on a beautiful day with a gentle breeze on a private pond? Five fish. Nothing spectacular. Four dinks and one around one and a half pounds. But what did I find out for you guys and gals? That all five were caught flipping and pitching a Zoom green pumpkin trick worm on a Provide 1/16 jig head on 8 pound fluorocarbon line on a medium heavy spinning rig. No other bites on any other baits or presentations. Yes, my sacrifice was worth it to help everyone on this site knowing what works best. If you are in the greater central Virginia area and want to fish the pond send me a PM and I can give you the details. Now to Mission BBQ for Veterans Week for my free North Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich with coleslaw and to hit Dick's for the Zoom trick worms on sale. ? 1 2 Quote
Dirtyeggroll Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 What exactly was the hypothesis of the experiment? That if you fished 12 hours you would be sore? 2 4 Quote

Smells like fish Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I am not at all surprised by the dedication and sacrifice members like you make. Looking at your avatar pic I can see the intensity in your eyes and in those clenched claws how ever so reminiscent of a good supple jig trailer. And how after fighting scaled beasts you have the fortitude to gobble down finger licking good bbq though your fingers smell like fish!!! Here's to you sir for your perseverance. Edit: and may Dicks worms be many! 3 Quote
Jaderose Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I'm impressed you could spend 12 hours on a 9 acre pond. Wait......not sure "impressed" is the right word..... 1 2 Quote

Super User MIbassyaker Posted May 16, 2020 Super User Posted May 16, 2020 Now that you have made this investigation public, there's going to be a run on medium-heavy spinning rods... 2 1 Quote

Super User RoLo Posted May 16, 2020 Super User Posted May 16, 2020 This reminds me of a former BR member named "Gobbledog" (He may be reading this). He won more than his fair share of central Florida tournaments (both day & night tourneys). I was never there, but to my best knowledge he threw 'one' lure all day long, a Zoom Trick Worm. As a member of the forum and on behalf of a grateful nation, I thank you. (I won't try to speak for your mother.) Now I've gotta go throw away all my lures except for my green pumpkin trick worms. 1 Quote
