madieo123 Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Hello everyone! I am a total newbie to bass fishing, like I've never gone before. The only fish I've caught are panfish. However, I've decided to go bass fishing tomorrow morning as my neighbor told us there's a prime spot for bass fishing right now. I have a pole and a ton of lures, but no idea which ones to use. II'm attaching photos of the lures I have hoping someone can tell me what I'll have the best luck with. I also have a box of nightcrawlers, as I couldn't get any minnows. I'm also wondering what size hook I should use. I'll appreciate any advice someone can give me. Thanks! Quote
txchaser Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Inside both the ringworm kit and the craw kit are the items you need for a texas rig. Go to the front page of this site and search for how to fish a texas rig. Should show you how to put it together and how to fish it. 2 Quote

813basstard Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 I’d use that key chain to start with. Then progress to Banjo Minnow and finish it up with the Illusions 1 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted May 16, 2020 Super User Posted May 16, 2020 That little floating Original Rapalas might be good this time of year , if the water is halfway clear . Just cast next to any object bass might be hiding next to and let it set . Don't move it until all the rings disappear and then give it a slight twitch .This really riles them up at times . Quote
OnthePotomac Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 When I got into bass fishing 20 years ago I had nothing except a spinning rod and reel. We went to visit my wife's 90 year old aunt in a retirement village in Florida on which there was a small lake. My daughter gave me the a Banjo Minnow kit and a DVD on how to fish it so I took it with me. Caught my first large mouth with the Minnow Kit rig throwing it up under the dock on the lake, which was 6' up off the water. Then I caught another in the canal leading up to the lake and had not further time to fish and that took less than an hour. It works 2 Quote
