TriStateBassin106 Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 I've been grinding lately at this one park pond that holds bass. It lately has recieved heavy fishing pressure. I tried every slow moving bait I could think of but I'm still ending up with the skunk. Only managed to catch 2 bed fish there in the past week. Any tips? Water temps are constantly changing from 50 to 53. Quote
Super User Bird Posted May 14, 2020 Super User Posted May 14, 2020 Heavy pressure is the theme at present. All the rural lakes I fish are loaded up at daylight. At those water temps, I'd throw Jerkbaits and spinnerbaits and hope the fish hasn't bit one in last 5 minutes. 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 14, 2020 Super User Posted May 14, 2020 Tips for Heavily pressured ponds during spawn? The wiseguy in me says: Choose another pond ? On a more intuitive note, bass in any pond are tough to catch during the bedding season. The protective buck is a relatively easy target, but during the 'actual' spawn, the female is fasting. Super User Bankbeater Posted May 14, 2020 Super User Posted May 14, 2020 Check out what everyone is using for bait and use something different. Around here it’s spinnerbaits, t rigged plastic worms, and live bait. Quote
