Super User Root beer Posted February 22, 2009 Super User Posted February 22, 2009 My local bass pro shop have seats going on sale for 9.99 at the spring classic. I'm going buy one and a new pedestal for it. I want one of these adjustable pedestal, but I keep hearing reviews how they stop working and is garbage. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_9244_225008005_225000000_225008000_225-8-5 I may not get that brand, but I want a similar item without gutting up my bank account. Do you have to properly maintain these pedestal? Oil it up, keep dirt out, keep water out, etc? Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 22, 2009 Super User Posted February 22, 2009 I had one of those on my previous bass boat. I have had the other style with the seat mount that is part of it and it didn't last as long as the one you suggested. Quote
bass or bass ? Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I have a hydraulic pedestal on the drivers side and a manual pedestal on the passenger side. Both from Cabella's. I wanted to be able to easily raise my seat for greater vision in shallow water without having to do it manually. Haven't had any trouble with my hydraulic.
