I was given one of these automatic life jackets for Christmas and now that it is warming up around here I want to start using it. However, I have no idea how to get it started or whatever. There is a little canister or something that it looks like I need to plug in or something. Any tips here?

There should be an instruction sheet or manual in there somewhere.

It should have came with instructions but it's basically plug and play regarding the canister......undo some velcro and screw in the arming kit.

The canister is the gas.
It plugs or screws in under the plastic  square in front where there will be an indicator that stays green when charged.
If there is none or red, it’s empty

There's a Youtube video for everything...

It's not your vest but in my experience they're all pretty much the same.

I have that jacket in red and it is really comfortable, which suites me fine for at my age I never take it off all day until I step on the dock at the end of the day.  With the Potomac flow and a day of an outgoing tide, if you go over the side you can find yourself in deep doo very fast.  What a great gift to you...someone cares.
