Hanansong Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Hey guys. I got a couple of scents and cured for my plastics and lures. I was wondering if decent plays a big role in bass fishing. Maybe it works in a certain season or time? I don't really know but I just put some on for extra measures. Hanan Thanks for all the info Quote
Super User Bird Posted May 5, 2020 Super User Posted May 5, 2020 Use to use it religiously many years ago, messy, got all over boat. Quit using it and bass never complained. 3 Quote
Beeno Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 I like scent it works in my mind. I get more bites on scented baits then not. But it could all be in my mind. ??♂️ Helps me with confidence and that’s all that matters if you don’t have confidence when you fish you probably won’t catch many fish. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 6, 2020 Super User Posted May 6, 2020 Hmm... I use MegaStrike Quote
primetime Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 I have used scents in the past like Megastrike and when I was using it I felt it helped....But I havent added scent in a couple years and do not really think about it. Most baits have scent cooked into them, salt etc....I have always felt that bass do hold onto powerbait longer, but that could be in my head. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 6, 2020 Super User Posted May 6, 2020 I use to use scent a little bit. I quit using it and have noticed no change Quote
WVU-SCPA Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Stretched out TRD and megastrike goes together like lamb and tuna fish. I'm a believer in it out fishing a non scented bait. Quote
Tracker22 Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 What I’ve noticed is that a lot of scents contain an oily substance. This substance leaves a trail in the water. Maybe fish can see or smell this trail. I use Megastrike and SlabSlobber scents. Quote

Super User geo g Posted May 7, 2020 Super User Posted May 7, 2020 I used to use it, but have not for years, now that you brought it up I may give it a try again. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 7, 2020 Super User Posted May 7, 2020 I use Megastrike on all my plastics, especially my swimbaits. Bass seem to hold on to them much longer than without the scent. I've said this before, long time ago, Bobby whipped me up some Trout scent, which has long since been gone. To bad the trout is no longer available.. Quote
nascar2428 Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Megastrike and pro cure are what I use. After watching MLF, I have come to realize that the pros rarely use the stuff. Because of that I have drastically reduced my use. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted May 7, 2020 Super User Posted May 7, 2020 I use it on some soft plastics. But if I'm throwing a Berkley worm, craw or shad I don't scent them. I have the confidence in how I use it. I believe it works on how I use it. I use only two versions. I would only tell you is to buy a reputable scent and try it. If it helps you, fine. If you see no difference at all, so be it. Your not out all that much money. Quote
