Hello all, I’m relatively new to the bass fishing world and I’m going through my dads old tackle box he gave me. Anyone know what kind of bait this is? This thing has caught me fish on very slow days and I’ve out fished my “more experienced” buddies with it on multiple occasions. I obviously want to get more, but any help on identifying exactly what this is would be greatly appreciated. Also anyone have some tips on how to fish it? I’ve been working it with a relatively slower reprieve with the occasional twitch here and there6BC418FC-CED5-42BD-B2D0-E411000911B5.jpeg.0f7bcd58df3cae01964eb22c9e859a64.jpeg. Thanks everyone.

That's a jerkbait.  it kind of looks like a yo-zuri to me, but I'm not sure of the brand. But you are fishing it correctly, although most people fish it  with only twitches and pauses but it can be slow retrieved with the few twitches as well. Gotta be top 5 baits of all time

Looks like a Yo Zuri Pins minnow to me.  Does it float, suspend or sink?

It floats when it’s not being worked. Suspends slowly with a twitch or retrieve.

Yep and that size and color was carried by Walmart in the past so there should be plenty those out there somewhere. I have at least one somewhere. Nice little creek bait.

Sounds like a floater.  That's important if you are trying to get the same one - also important with rip baits that small to have the same size/type line on and the way you have it rigged up to keep the action the same.  But sometimes you may want to change up the action...

Looks like the color you are looking for is Baby Brook Trout.

That’s exactly it! Thank you so much.

Decent baits but the hooks suck.

Even a small bass would bend the hooks out.

Another vote for yo zuri. I’ve caught some really nice brown trout on that bait in the streams around here.

It is 1/16oz, it is designed for light tackle not for 30# braid and a heavy powered rod.

I've caught more smallmouth on the Yo-Zuri Pins Minniow 50mm in "Silver Black," then any other lure. Its a Amazing Bait!
