We all have our trials. Mine is with the SDJ and J Knot. No problems with Uni, Alberto, Seaguar, FG or a host of others Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 1, 2020 Super User Posted May 1, 2020 I had to give up tying some knots, due to the Meds I take, makes my hands shake beyond control, very frustrating. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 11, 2020 Super User Posted May 11, 2020 Shaw Grigsby knot he ties in the vedio is the double San Deigo jam knot. I have test both the standard and double SD jam knots with little to no difference in strength. I prefer the standard version using the lure to hold the loop down and swing the tag end downwards 5 turns then through the bottom loop then back up through the top loop. Very simple knot to master with a little practice. Tom Quote

Figured the differences would be minute but no idea why the holds up noticeable better in strength tests Quote

I have learn to never let my hook barbs touch FC line when storing on the rod, I use my old pig blankets and lure wraps religiously. This thread is about mono line and it's not knot sensitive as FC. Super User MN Fisher Posted May 12, 2020 Super User Posted May 12, 2020 Mono, Hybrid, Braid - same knot for all terminal connections...number of winds change based on line type/test strength. Quote
