As an avid NCAA football fan, I'm going to say Miami got a gift with # 5 pick in Tua.

One of the best college QB's I've seen.

Yeah I know about the hip.

I don't believe in anyone's draft analysis anymore, after what happened in the the 2012 draft.  In that year, the Seahawks acquired:

Round 1: Seahawks select Bruce Irvin, DE, West Virginia

Round 2: Seahawks select Bobby Wagner, OLB, Utah State
Round 3: Seahawks select Russell Wilson, QB, Wisconsin
Round 4:  Seahawks select Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State
Round 4:  Seahawks select Jaye Howard, DT, Florida
Round 5: Pick traded to Bills for Marshawn Lynch
Round 5: Seahawks select Korey Toomer, ILB, Idaho
Round 6: Seahawks select Jeremy Lane, CB, Northwestern State
Round 6: Seahawks select Winston Guy, S, Kentucky
Round 7: J.R. Sweezy, DE, N.C. State
Round 7: Greg Scruggs, DE, Louisville

The grade they got immediately after the draft?  The Bleacher report said:

Quote

After one of the worst picks in the first round I can ever remember, the Seattle Seahawks didn't draft any positions of need or draft for the future.

Pete Carroll is proving why he didn’t make it in the NFL the first time. Not only was Bruce Irvin a reach at No. 15, the Seahawks proved they were oblivious to their madness by celebrating their selection.

As if the day wasn’t bad enough, Seattle selecting Russell Wilson, a QB that doesn’t fit their offense at all, was by far the worst move of the draft. With the two worst moves of the draft, Seattle is the only team that received an F on draft day.

Grade: F

All but 2 stayed on to be part of the Seahawk Superbowl winning team.  Many had multiple Superbowl and/or probowl appearances.  8 years later, Russell Wilson is one of the top elite QB's in the NFL today.

So...ya, predictions and grades immediately after the draft mean nothing.

Pete carols first 4 picks were money in the bank... it won them a super bowl and was one play away from winning 2.

So I'm with you... you really have to look back after several years to see what it looked like.

I think Miami did well but like you said gotta wait and see.  But it's hard to judge a bad team with picks even if they did good... all those players that teams got will struggle some or their accomplishments wont be visible if their team sticks and they dont have alot of help

Johnny Manziel

Matt leinart

Heath shuler

RG3 and the list goes on.

BUT it's wiser to start with talent than hope for it. Imo

The biggest winner is Tampa Bay and it has nothing to do with the draft!

Happy with what the Niners accomplished despite starting out with not much to work with.

The Vikings with the best draft I’ve seen in years and the Packers with the worst I’ve maybe ever seen.
