cals400ex Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Has anyone tried the 2020 Tatula SV baitcasting reel? I like how it is lighter and more compact than the previous version. However, before I purchased one, I wanted to make sure there was no reason why I should avoid it over the previous version? Also, for a universal purpose reel for largemouth bass (60% of the time it will be used for fishing jigs/worms/creature bait and the remainder it will be used with spinners, crank baits, buzz baits, etc.), is 7.3:1 the best gear ratio? Super User Tywithay Posted April 26, 2020 Super User Posted April 26, 2020 I don't think it's leaps and bounds better than the previous SV. It is smaller and more comfortable. I actually prefer the Elite long cast version over the SV for pretty much everything, except lighter baits, but all the Tatula models are good reels. Quote
cals400ex Posted April 26, 2020 Author Posted April 26, 2020 I have not used either the SV or the Elite. I will note that when I worm fish, I usually only use a 1/16 oz weight. I like it small so it makes less noise when it hits the water. So, I want the reel to cast lighter baits. I'm not opposed to the Elite, I just don't know which might better suite my needs. Quote
Jason.Domingo Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Not really a difference as Tywithay said. My wife owns 2 of them. The 6 and an 8 gear ratio. Other than being smaller and different grips..not much difference performance wise. Then again her hands are smaller than mines so she prefers it much more lol Quote
