Spring gloves/mitts

As age is nipping at my heals, I am finding my hands are having a hard time keeping up, especially when cold.

For years I have been using mitts when droving the boat and  spring/sun gloves when temps are in the 40's.

It time for a change and I wonder what others are using at this time of the year to fish with.

So far latex gloves with heat packs on my wrist have worked best.

 

Any suggestions are welcome.

Colder days it's latex gloves with half-finger, knit-wool gloves over. The latter are fairly cheap and I have 2 pair to swap out if the first gets wet.

I buy rain golf gloves and wear them most of the year.

  Have you tried any of the catalytic hand warmers, like the S-Boston, the Peacock or (if you're really lucky) the original Jon-E hand warmers?   The mittens that have the half-mitt cover over the tipless glove fingers can carry one of these very easily. Not waterproof at all just good wind blockers,

so I don't get them wet. 

Still great for the cold boat ride early morning up Lake Menderchuck

For me it's about keeping my hands dry so it's been 3-4 mil nitrile gloves and that is good down to the low forties (air). However when the wind kicks up or the air temp is in the mid to high thirties it's not enough so I've found that the polypro glove liners from the army surplus under the nitrile get me there. I might look at 7 or 9 mil nitriles for next cold season.

They are stupid expensive but they really are amazing gloves.  Insanely warm and still allow a reasonable full range of  motion.  For warmer "cool" weather I use whatever mil surplus glove liners I can find for cheap on ebay.  They never last long but the good wool/poly blend ones are only like $7-10 a pair.  It's about 50/50 on whether or not you can cut the finger tips off without them unraveling, but the ones that do can generally be fixed with a lighter.

I keep them stashed around my car and work bags, they come in handy all the time and are cheap enough to give away if you are feeling kind.

Kastking mountain mist fishing gloves. I also keep a package of handwarmers on those really brutal days. They have all been brutal so far this Spring. Feels like the wind is coming off the top of an iceberg right onto the Northeast.

I take one of these with me, because no matter what gloves I wear, the fingers I have exposed still get super cold. 

 

I'll take a couple minute break when I need to, turn it on and let my fingers warm up.

No problem. I used to work in a freezer, so I bought like 3 of them. They're real handy to have around. You can charge your phone with em, too

You might want to look at the FootJoys. I’ve been using the rain gloves for a few years. They offer a good sense of feel, thin but effective thin. Had the wife modify the thumb in one glove and finger in the other. 
 

I hear you about age. I’m doing things that I thought I would never have to do to fish and hunt also.
