I was doing some cleaning in the garage today.  Seems I have about 15 of the cardboard rod shipping tubes.  Most of which are 7-8 foot.  They are all pretty heavy cardboard.

Any ideas what to do with them?

I usually keep 1 or 2, just in case. Otherwise I cut them up into 1 to 1 1/2 foot lengths and recycle them. I have about 10 I need to cut up. lol

I have a bunch in the corner of the garage too, and don't really know why I keep them. I never sell or ship any rods. Guess I'm just a packrat.

I cut them into 6" lengths and them tape them to a hole saw. Then I use my cordless drill to remove line from reels.

I also use short lengths of them to reinforce shipping containers so vulnerable parts don't get damaged.

I store my rods in them in the off season, or when I'm not using them. Keeps them from getting damaged, and dusty.

I hoard them in my house so my wife and I have something to fight about.  I am waiting for the moment that having a pile of them some how saves the day so I can be really smug about keeping them all.  ;)

I keep meaning to get rid of most of them but there is always some excuse not to.  If anyone in central MD wants some tubes let me know!

I take extras to a local paper company that recycles cardboard

You reckon it becomes toilet paper?

Couldn't help it.

I burn the tubes in the outside wood boiler.

I just cut _ _  up with my saw zaw and burnt them in my fire pit. I was storing them under my boat on the garage floor and it was getting ridiculous.
