Super User jbsoonerfan Posted May 17, 2020 Super User Posted May 17, 2020 I found the best way to not have to wait on back ordered items, is to not order them. I did it ONE time and after that I refuse to ever do it again. 2 Quote

One was back in stock within a week...the other kept getting pushed off more and more. Finally after 4&1/2 months of waiting, ordered the second item from someplace else that DID have it in stock, cancelled the order on that item from TW and got my first BO item within 3 days. Their policy of not shipping ANYTHING backordered until ALL backordered items are in stock really bites. 1 Quote

Armtx77 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 I got my order Friday and the braid and one pack of hooks was BO. Not too bad, considering the odd circumstances. Quote
Shimano_1 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 I used to order probably 80 percent of my gear from tacklewarehouse. Their prices were a little better than most, their sales were great, and I always got my stuff in a timely manner. The last couple years seems like they've jacked their prices up to basically the same as basspro etc, their 2 day Shipping turned into 3 for my location anyway, just haven't been nearly as pleased with my dealings with them as I once was. Haven't ordered anything from them in months and all this stuff going on hasn't helped. I get that this covid stuff has taken a toll, but everywhere else I order from seem to be basically operating as normal. May not be the case but seems to me they're doing a lot of selling but don't want to spend the money on the appropriate work force to handle the amount of business. As always just my opinion and id love to see them operating like they used to! I've sent a lot of business their way over the years Quote

Super User NYWayfarer Posted May 18, 2020 Super User Posted May 18, 2020 Right now with everything that is going on I am getting most of my tackle from Walmart and DSG curbside pick up. The only items I ordered lately were some 6th Sense baits on sale. I ordered Directly from them a week ago and the package will arrive tomorrow. Quote
Super User gim Posted May 21, 2020 Super User Posted May 21, 2020 Bass pro is having delays too so the issue is not just tackle warehouse. Bass pro said items are being delayed because there aren’t as many employees physically in the DC to pick and ship the orders. I called them about an item I ordered and that’s what customer service told me on the phone. The item is there, they just don’t have enough man power to go get it. Quote
greentrout Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 I've recently (2 weeks) bought 2 fishing rods via amazon and all were delivered to my home no more than 5 to 7 days max. Pronto ... good fishing ... Quote
Cityangler7 Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Was just informed today that TW will not have a Memorial Day sale this year. Quote
JediAmoeba Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I have ordered tackle from a lot of places in the last 3 months...I haven't had ANY trouble getting it. It maybe took a day longer but it came quickly and without problem. Every place I have ordered from has had better in stocks or better prices than tacklewarehouse. Off the top of my head... Jan's Nettcraft Tackle Direct Fish USA Tackle Supply Depot Swimbait City Many Ebay sellers. I think Tacklewarehouse is shooting themselves in the foot. 2 Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted May 22, 2020 Super User Posted May 22, 2020 Pure speculation on my part but I get the impression there's some inner turmoil with TW's staff or leadership that caused their massive delays with filling orders and decision to apparently not have a Memorial Day sale. Fisherman's Warehouse in Norcal is a smaller version of TW and also has 3 retail locations, and they've been consistently getting their orders out right away through this whole thing even while the stores were open, then closed, then partially open, and then about to reopen again now with normal hours and social distancing. I've been a very loyal TW customer for well over 10 years, but more and more of my money has been going to competitors the past few years since TW seems to be getting worse at what made them special while a few others are getting progressively better. Super User Columbia Craw Posted May 22, 2020 Super User Posted May 22, 2020 Some of us still remember when BPS was it and you called a spoke to an order taker and gave them the catalog reference, the item, size and color then the quantity. Your order showed up in 10 to 14 days. My last TW order took eight days. That's fine in a time when people get peed off because it took four minutes to get their fast food order. I hope TW gets back to a new normal like everyone else. Quote

And the inevitable return call from them to tell you one(or more) of your items are out of stock which delayed shipping even further so they could see if you wanted something else... 1 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted May 22, 2020 Super User Posted May 22, 2020 At the beginning of the pandemic, there was an uncertainty of how to balance commerce with keeping their employees safe, I believe Tackle Warehouse posted on their website “Keeping Our Community Safe” (still there w/updates BTW) how they were dealing with shipping out orders, which was about a week delay. I received an order I place at the beginning of SIP protocols in 8 days and figured hey nobody’s going to the hospital, it’s all good. Last order I placed with them took two days to get to my door, which is close to pre-pandemic shipping time. I would like to think everyone can expect the same shipping times from TW moving forward as well. Quote

I work for a company with a very large warehouse and we have had to cut back on shifts and add in cleaning time between shifts. if someone gets sick in one of the shifts, that whole shift goes into quarantine until they can be tested. things like this could be happening at TW. even having to close down for a day or two can create huge backlogs of inventory coming and going out 2 Quote
