Bradley Simpson Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 My reel was squeaking when i turned the handle so i disassembled it and cleaned it but now when i push the button and then turn the handle the button doesnt go back up. Ive tried disassembled and reassembling it again but still same issue. What should i do? Quote
jeffo21 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Sounds like something is not connected just right. try looking it up on youtube by your reel manufacturer and model. Or wait and DVT will be able to tell you whats wrong Quote
Wildbillb Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Let's start with make and model of the reel. 1 Quote
Beeno Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Hate it when that happens! This is why I don’t mess around with my reels anymore. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Hard to say without knowing the model and what exactly you disassembled. Could be adoring disconnected, ratchet gear misaligned. You can call me tomorrow if you’d like. Quote

It sounds like it may have been put on upside down. Quote
Bradley Simpson Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 Figured it out, i had the star ish shaped gear on backwards Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Yup that’s the mid aligned ratchet gear I mentioned. Glad you figured it out. It’s almost always something simple. Quote
