BigAngus752 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 We bought a new house in January. I spent February/March remodeling the house and we are finally moved in. Now I'm remodeling my 1600sq ft. detached garage. It has a bathroom, hot water, two floor drains, 11.5 ft ceilings, and a 93% efficiency furnace. I spent this weekend masking and spraying. We were stressed about getting our old house sold during the pandemic but we just accepted an offer on it last Tuesday. Tremendous blessing! Looking forward to getting my shop finished, set up, and all my tools and vehicles/projects moved in. 6 Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted April 20, 2020 Super User Posted April 20, 2020 I'm gardening, walking my fat butt off, and fishing if and when I can. I've also noticed something, something really odd. There have been times when I've smiled at people, and I noticed I actually waved to someone in the neighborhood yesterday. I help my wife, and I don't scream, cuss and jump up and down ...... as much. I'm ..... I'm .....almost civilized. If this keeps up, I may lose my union membership card in The Brotherhood of Crabby Old Men. I'm mystified. I just don't understand it at all. ? jj 2 2 Quote

I have a nice shop but there never seems to be enough room. 1 Quote

I’ll trade you my house for it since inland bass/pike/walleye fishing is closed here in Mn until may 9th I have been doing some walleye and pike fishing on the Mississippi and some cat fishing in a smaller river by my house. I’ve also been messing around a bunch with combining and making new musky baits. Made a couple Frankenstein looking baits but I put a big chatter bait head on the front of a bull dawg and a Medusa, I think it’s going to work great. I just attached it with a split ring to the line tie, I added a picture of a Medusa to give you the idea 2 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted April 20, 2020 Super User Posted April 20, 2020 I live in Iowa and work in South Dakota so no shut down here. Outside of work I am practicing social distancing. Practicing it at work to as much as I can. Going fishing every day I can when the weather allows...even been a few times with buddies but we drive in separate cars and stay away from each other as much as possible. Finally had two nice days in a row and this afternoon I found a little pocket of prespawn fatties in that 2.5 to 3.5lb range. Nothing crazy but I did manage 11 of em on a spinnerbait and swim jig before they shut off. I do have a tree in my backyard I need down but I have been finding lots of good excuses to put that off and fish! I will echo what JimmyJoe said...I too find myself in a better mood lately despite all the bad going on. Maybe it's the return to a simple uncluttered life without a bunch of filler that is making me this way. It seems like all we do as a society is cram as much crap into our time off as possible instead of enjoying things while we are doing them and just being content. All I really wanna do is work enough to pay my bills...fish as much as I can...and hang out with my best friend(girlfriend). And that's exactly what I've been doing. 2 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted April 20, 2020 Super User Posted April 20, 2020 I have been doing a little here and there but I don't have to worry about passing time. Where I work, I have absorbed two other people's jobs and we have been as busy as ever. Business has been booming. I really can't figure it out. It's starting to catch up with us though. We have a limited amount of workers (some out sick with the virus, a few in quarantine, and few in the hospital) and more work than we can do in a week. Luckily our customers are understanding. My wife is working from home and my kids still have school, online. So what does that mean for fishing... I fish when I can. I have been able to get out for a few Saturdays since the weather has been better but I have spent more than my fair share of time online shopping for fishing gear and what not. This weekends damage.... Mulch, fertilizer, plants, soil and bug killer Shutters for the windows Riding tractor maintenance> Fuel filter, air filter, oil change and spark plug New Battery and Cable for daughter's truck Weber Grill 2 pairs of boots (work and hiking) G.Loomis 903C IMX Pro Patagonia Fishing Shirt 2 sets of Boca Bearings for old reels New NRS Chinook Life Vest And....2 hours of fishing 1 Quote
ike8120 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Since I was released from quarantine on 4/15 went back to work (essential employee). Weekends include online shopping, curbside pickups, gardening, practicing my knots( the places I fish are closed), a lot of house cleaning and movie watching. Took a ride to the boardwalk(didn't get out of the car) you would think it was summer and not too many people practicing social distancing. Quote
The Bassman Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I've hit the pause button on my painting business for a few weeks. People still want me in their house but I'm erring on the side of caution till the curve gets heading in the right direction. Our stay at home order still allows me to work if I want to. That said I'm fishing pretty much daily. The bite's been good even with a chilly snap last week. I'm getting lots of walking and social distancing pond hopping. Caught a couple of good ones along with a bunch of others yesterday. This was my best. Quote

This is not the largest shop(s) I’ve had. I could have 10 building this size and I would eventually fill them with junk. LOL Quote
Super User Bird Posted April 20, 2020 Super User Posted April 20, 2020 I have plenty to do around the house......but I'll have to wait. 3 Quote
