Do you run braid to leader on your smackdown

? If so what's the lightest leader you'd tie to 50lb?

From my experience a leader paired with 50# braid is not wise, leader knot is to large and guide contact is inevitable.

Not impossible though, I've done it.

I used to be on the spider wire bandwagon, tho my fishing has been limited the past 6 years, I respooled my rods with power pro, because it was cheap and available.   I have had no issues with it, actually less issues with it than the high end spiderwire

When I re up I'm gonna buy try Smackdown.

Smackdown is $30 per spool - I use about six  different braid sizes from #5 lb. to #65 lb.  , so that would become a bit expensive to buy (even if I only use a 60 yrd. top shot of line per reel) ... I still like Power Pro , Tuff Line , 832  and J Braid (depending on the application).

Ive have a few spools of Smackdown used it for a few years now and cant come up with any reason for its premium price. No other person has been able to tell me why either.

It doesnt have better knot strength than other equal dia. 8 strand lines. Its not the quietest line it. It doesnt have more abrasion resistance than other lines. Color doesnt last any longer.

If you can get it on a good sale thats when to give it a try but dont pay full price, well that goes for any line actually.

To me its just a good line equal to other $20 line.
