So I decided to dive into a more expensive rod the other day. I ended up getting a shimano expride as I had heard people raving over it, but now that I have it I can't tell if I'm missing something or if I'm just a little disappointed. I had heard many things about how sensitive and good at detecting bites it is, but I almost feel that my $40 Camo Ent-Sport E Series Camo Legend rod is much more sensitive! On the E Series I can feel every wobble from a crank bait to the point that the vibrations are almost thundering down the rod, then with my new Expride it is like a light thudding or sometimes I cant even tell if it is walking correctly... they are both MH, but the E Series almost seems more like a Moderate/Fast than a fast tip as it is much more bendy than the stiff Expride. I also noticed that I can feel jigs much better on the E Series. I wasnt sure if I maybe just have to give the Wxpride time to break in or maybe the "bendiness" of the E Series makes it seem more sensitive. Everything else on the Expride is miles better from look to feel, but the sensitivity is something I thought the Expride was known for and it almost seems a bit lacking? Please let me know if anyone has any insight in this, I havent been able to fish much with the Expride yet, but I am a little worried off the bat!

Thank you in advanced for any replies!

I ordered a Expride for a friend last year. I have the same feeling regarding Expride 7'2mh. The rod tip is too stiff. It feels like a heavy action rod.

@Sbpk I will give you $120 for the Expride and you can buy 3 more "bendy" rods.

@Zibass Same offer, $120

I told myself why downgrade to get a Expride.  I have a better collection.

I don't feel the med hvy expride is too stiff at all. I believe it's considered fast action and to me feels right where it should be.

It's a very versatile rod. Good at most things, but not great at any in particular.

I agree that the expride 7'2 med hvy is probably not the most sensitive rod out there. In fact far from it. But it's good enough to be used for bottom contact techniques.

For the money, it's still a very good rod.
