I used to throw a white 3 inch twister all the time and I caught...well pretty much everything but for some reason I got away from it. Maybe to throw baits that targeted bass only. Anyhow what are your favorite grubs? Colors? Size?

The Mister Twister 4” is great, I find the 3” a little too small for a lot of 1/4oz jigheads. I also really like the powerboat pro grubs in 3”. They’re much fatter than the mr twister but same overall length. Can’t wait to use them on the walleyes in 2 weeks.

pearl or white is my favorite color hands down. Black also works well in lakes with leeches in them, if not I’d go with a color matching your forage. Junebug or green pumpkin for sunfish. Smoke or pearl for shad.

For walleye I like to use hot pink and chartreuse but I’ve been less successful on the smallies with those colors.

Zoom Fat Albert. Great action, and a really great price too.

They only come in one size.

Gosh. Too many to choose from. I love them all. Bobby garland makes some good ones. I like the traditional curly tail quite a bit, but I really love a small sassy Shad type bait. Those might be classified as swimbaits instead of grubs but they are awesome

I find those large white one's with the dark brown or black head to be pretty tasty with some honey mustard or garlic ranch dressing.

I like the Zoom Fat Albert grubs. Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Seed, And Rootbeer Pepper Green have been good colors. I fish them as a Texas rig. I use the twin tail grubs as jig trailers.

Never texas rigged a grub..what size hook and weight you using? Are you fishing it like a Texas rig or swimming it?

Some of my favorite trailers not exactly grub but similar are Rage Tail, BioSpawn Vilebug, Zoom Fat Albert.

Popular colors for my body of water: Black/Blue, Green Pumpkin,Watermelon, Pearl/Pearl Flash.

I only use 2 brands of grubs; GYCB Hula grubs 4" & 5" double tail, 4" single tail and Don Iovino 3" & 4" paddle tail grubs. The green weenie paddle tail grub is a forgotten lure today and never stopped working.

Rage Tail Menace. Versatile and flat out catches fish.

For single tailed, I really can't see the difference in effectiveness between the Zoom Fat Albert, Big Bite Baits, and Case (they're all good).  For twin tails, I only use the Missle Baits Twin Turbo for a finesse jig trailer.  I guess you the Hula Grub is a grub too, and it has caught me a few.

My favorite is the Rage Tail Menace. Truth be told though I have caught the most fish on a Yum grub.

I use a 1/0 Skip Gap hook and an 1/8 ounce bullet weight sinker. I fish it both ways.

I've never really considered the Menace a grub, more of a beaver/creature bait imo.

For the sake of argument, it has to have a curly tail to be a grub in my book, so with that being said, 4" Yamamoto single tail, smoke no flake.

4" Yamamoto single tail...deadly as a search bait on a 1/8, 3/16, or 1/4" ball head for smallmouth year round. Also works great as a finesse swim jig trailer.

5" Yamamoto double tail....best "tuff bite" jig trailer ever made IMHO. Works great as a swim jig trailer, and as a stand alone bait on a plain lead football head dragged slowly across the bottom, or on a swinging football head. I like the 5" over the 4" in double tails, because there's more "meat" in the body to get on a hook, and my personal catch rates have never been better on the 4" double tail, so for simplicity, I just use the 5"

6" Yamamoto "stretch 40" single tail....this is THE grub for texas rigging and fishing in and around cover.

I'm not a huge fan of hula grubs, but when I do think I need one, the Keitech little spider has been way more effective for me than a GYCB.

For river Smallies I have not found many grubs that were not productive. I Like a few but 3” Berkley Power Grubs they seem to like best. Have used them for many many years. Berkley only has a few color patterns but all seem to be productive. At least for me.

I use to use 5 inch Kalins a lot on Carolina and Texas rigs . They had a color called Witches Brew  , which was a darker brown with a  chartreuse tail that I had good luck with . Purples worked good too . Also used a Riverside 5 inch grub a lot in various colors  . One way I used them was as a top water . I Texas rigged them with a 1/8th ounce weight and held the rod tip high . I could buzz them around cover and kill it . Caught a lot of River smallmouths that way .

3” Zoom Grub (White)

3” Berkley Power Grub (Pumpkinseed)

3” Kalin’s Grub (Ron’s Craw)

4” Yamamoto Single Tail Grub (Baby Bass)

4” Yamamoto Single Tail Grub (Natural Shad)

My starting line-up. Power to the grub!!!
