I use lizards from now until fall. T-rigged, weightless as a top water and on a shakeyhead in the summer. I use Zoom 6 inch lizards in natural colors. One of my favorite baits.

So I haven't really thrown these in probably 15 years of so having opted for brush hog type baits instead. Anybody still throwing these? Brands? Colors? Thanks in advance for the replies

Oh yes, green pumpkin on a 3/0 EWG Gammie with a 3/16 slip sinker during spawn.  Bass hate a lizard lurking around their spawing grounds.

Same for me. Picked up some white ones to try this year too. Zoom brand

A few years ago I hit a close out of some YUM products.  YUM made a salamander and a Zell emander ( I guess named after Zell Rowland ).  The Yum salamander looks like any other lizard except the legs & tail have little boot tail on them, kind of like an old Sassy Shad.   The Zellemander  has thin floppy appendages and twin ribbon tails.  I use both of these baits in conjunction with my home made jika rig, which I fish on deep outside edges of weedlines.

The only lizard baits I have ever done well with are the old Yum twin tail Zemmnander baits which came loaded with salt and scent. I do well with the green pumpkin, especially rolling them slowly on the bottom behind a light weight c-rig. I am down to my last pack, but something about the shape and thin twin tails gives them a different look. Not sure why they stopped making that bait.

I tend to use more brush hog style baits these days, but a black blue tail zoom lizard works well pretty much anytime in Florida.

YUM still makes a real nice lizard. This is funny this topic popped up because I just dug out some 6" green pumpkin YUM lizards with the intention of tossing them this week.

As most of you know by my posts, I prefer big baits. But I can't help but remember years ago we had an elderly gent in our club who fished out of a Sears jon boat that routinely spanked me and most others. He threw one bait year round - the 4 inch Zoom lizard in Chartreuse/Pepper on a short C-rig with a 3/16 oz weight on a spinning rod. He called it the "limit getter".

Maybe I need to bring that back lol.

You can’t catch bass on Lizards anymore.  Forget about it.  It was a hot bait in the 90s but fish stopped hitting them in 2004.  You can just throw your old lizards away or send them them to me and I will dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner.   Now let’s move on to the next topic. ?

I've got 2 or 3 bags of Zoom lizards from years ago. I liked the 6" in June but color. I plan on throwing them again this year

Lizards still work, I used almost a whole bag of green pumpkin purple flake YUM 6" lizards Thursday without even trying very hard.

I always have 6 inch zoom lizards in the box. Watermelon seed is always a good color for me. In my home lake , the fish will occasionally have days where they clobber them when I run them across the tops and around eel grass edges. I get a lot of fish with them right up against the bank also.Great bed fishing bait too.

Always have a 8" zoom lizard rigged on MH baitcaster with 12lb invisx every trip spring, summer and fall...........Green pumpkin or black with tail dipped in chartreuse. Seems to catch better quality bass whereas my brush hog set up catches quantity.

Zoom Lizard - Junebug/chartreuse, Watermelon Candy, or Gourd Green

I still prefer a lizard over many of the newer creature designs.

Big cotton candy or green pumpkin on a Texas Rig.

If I’m a tournament co-angler and the boater is using FFS in deeper water leaving me fishing in the blind this is what I throw for a bottom contact bait.
