Fish0093 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I was looking into getting two group 29 batteries for my boat. I hear the walmart everstart are good for the price. However my only issue is having to wait in line for an hour just to get into the store nowadays. Any other ones you recommend for the same price? Probably going to find only one year warranties versus the everstart maxx 2 year Quote
Super User Bird Posted April 13, 2020 Super User Posted April 13, 2020 I've moved to all AGM batteries due to no maintenance requirements but have had good service life with everstart.....for the money. Quote

When I bought my truck batteries Walmart offered the best warranties of anyone around, and prorated returns for 5 years, I think. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 13, 2020 Global Moderator Posted April 13, 2020 I like AGM also. Mine are Duracells from Sam's Club. 3 Quote
OnthePotomac Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Our Interstate dealer is super. Only one or two there at a time. They took my old battery out of the back of the truck and put the new battery in the back of the truck. Our local dealer also gives a discount to Vietnam vets. Did not know that until I happen to wear my T shirt that day. Quote
Fish0093 Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 I managed to pick up some from Walmart today. Managed to take advantage of the rain and wind for no lines. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 14, 2020 Super User Posted April 14, 2020 NAPA wet cells. They're about $40 more than the Everstarts. I had Everstarts prior to the NAPA's. Never had to add water to the NAPA's. Can't say that about the Everstarts. Quote
Smokinal Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Man have I had great luck with Delco Voyagers! Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted April 14, 2020 Super User Posted April 14, 2020 Even back when I had the powerboat, I used West Marine deep cycles for the TM and electronics - made by East Penn. Quote
Fish0093 Posted April 15, 2020 Author Posted April 15, 2020 I noticed these new maxx 29 are only rated for 800mca and the label doesn’t mention anything about the 2 year warranty. The ones listed on the site say 845mca and 2 year warranty. Seems like they came out with a new one? Quote
