Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted April 13, 2020 Global Moderator Posted April 13, 2020 I’m a frog guy, absolutely love it! I’ve never thrown a buzz bait or buzz frog, but I pick one up a couple months ago and figured I’ll give it a shot this year. What length and action rod are you guys throwing buzz baits and buzz frogs on? Quote
keagbassr Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Buzzbaits I'm using a 7' mh/f. For toads [ buzzfrogs] I have a 7'3" h/f. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted April 13, 2020 Super User Posted April 13, 2020 Buzzbaits - 7' MH/F Don't have any buzzfrogs 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 13, 2020 Global Moderator Posted April 13, 2020 7' H/F, assuming you're talking about toads like a Horny Toad. Some guys call a Buzz Frog the bait with a buzzbait arm and toad body. I fish those on a 6' 10" MH/F like I do the rest of my buzzbaits. Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted April 13, 2020 Super User Posted April 13, 2020 Get a couple of War Eagle Buzz Toads - one in white and one in black (3/8th oz.) Best all - around buzz toad is the Zoom Horney Toad and Yum has a nice one as well (both inexpensive) . Quote
OnthePotomac Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Buzz frogs/toads both on 7'MH fast tips rods. 1 Quote
ILoveHyacinth Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 I use a Dobyns 734c for all toad/skinny dipper style fishing. I've tried using the 735c in heavy stuff, but I just like the way the 734c loads on the cast and with straight braid, I never felt underpowered. Quote
