Your Current Frog'n Line and Color ?

What is your current Frog'n braid  line , size and color ? … Anyone use other than standard green color braid  line  for Frog'n ?

While most would use #50 lb. or #65 lb. PP braid in green for a Frog'n line - I found a new spool of #50 lb. Tuff Line 4 strand  Hi - Viz yellow braid in my basement that I am considering as a Frog'n line , your thoughts ?

It should work as long as it's in good condition and strong. See how you like it

Been using Kastking Mega 8 Black Ops 50 lb for a couple of years.  Great?  No but it works fine for what I need it for.  It casts fine and has never broke off.

 

and I do a LOT of heavy cover "combat" frogging during the summer.  My frog equipment takes a LOT of abuse..including the line

The Tuff Line #50 is new and in great shape (bought it on sale at a steep discount)  - I was just concerned about the Hi - Viz yellow line color for Frog'n ?

50lb smackdown, it's an older spool of the dark green.

Can't imagine the color matters much but I'm using the blue/green Sunline FX2 in 50lb. It looks pretty cool.

I don't think the line color would matter.  The least visible line when looking up is white, or light blue.  The darker colored lines are more visible on the surface.  I confirmed this theory myself in a swimming pool while testing line visibility to settle a bet.  Dark green can be less visible than other colors looking down in darker colored water.  That said, I can't imagine any color would make a difference frog fishing for bass.  Clear fluorocarbon is less visible than clear mono, but not by as much as line manufactures try to make you believe.  Of course this is from my observation, I have no clue what a fish can see.

65 lbs maxcuatro in green. It’s a very thin and coarse braid which does a really good job of cutting through slop on the hook set. I noticed a significant difference of how much stuff I brought in with the fish when I switched to maxcuatro from suffix 832 which is another great line. It being a pretty coarse line sounds like a really bad thing but it casts farther than any line I’ve ever used. It is a little louder on the guides when your fighting a fish but that’s not a bad thing, just something to point out. It’s not cheap at all which is why I don’t think it’s very popular but it’s about as good as you can get in my opinion.

I too like the maxcuatro. I think it cuts through grass/slop much better than smackdown.

*Based on replies - it doesn't seem to matter what color braid you use for hollow body frog fishing … A Hi-Viz Yellow braid (Power Pro) will eventually fade anyway as most braids do (except Viscous).

My frog reel currently has 40lb. Kastking super something yellow braid. If your concerned about color you can color It with a sharpie.

Mild to medium cover: 50lb power pro v2 any color 

(regular power pro works great too, I just like the smooth v2 version for longer casts)

heavy cover: 65lb power pro v2
